Welcome to the Halloween RP of 2020! (This is my first RP that I'm starting bear with me). This RP will begin when everyone decides. If it starts and you still want to be in the RP you can join anytime! The catch is the same as last year, it ends on the 1st of November whether the story is finished or not!
The Halloween RP this year will feature haunted houses, ghosts, murder, lore, and more!
The prompt: Everyone with a character are moving in a huge mansion enough to fit everyone because we're all friends here. The house is old, but it still looks beautiful. The house is put near the ocean in California, and in the back yard there is a burial ground, but the characters don't know that yet. They haven't even moved in yet! The front yard is neat and clean. The nearest town is at least 2 miles away. Halloween is approaching and haunted shenanigans ensue. You get the point.
Happy Halloween!!!

ok ig i'll start
------ I walked down the aisle in the barn, shuffling through my Louis Vitton purse.
"Ah, there they are." I exclaimed in a whisper, picking up my sunglasses and putting them on my face. Today was the day I go with my best friend, Jordan, to look at a oceanfront mansion in Newport Beach. If we like it, we are both pitching in, even though i'm most likely paying for most of it due to my job. As I strutted down the barn isle, I felt something hit my arm. I scoffed and looked to my left, and I saw my horse, Malibu, with her huge head out of her stall door, and her nose turned to the ceiling.
"Chica, I don't have any treats for you right now. I'll be right back, ok?" I told her, stroking her nose. She snorted disappointingly and sulked to the back of her stall. I laughed and walked to the stable parking lot, got into my convertible yellow Ford Mustang, and I drove to the house.
------- "Ready?" Jordan asked when I got out of my car, which was parked next to hers. I didn't bother to change out of my riding clothes, though they made me look rich. They were spotless beige, and the little pocket on the right side had a french pendant sewn into it. The grippers had little jewels outlining them, and the pockets on the back had jewels outlining the edges and the pendant on them. I was wearing a white Ariat show shirt, and I had a strong, tight, Hispanic ponytail.
"Yup." I responded, linking arms with Jordan. We got to the house, and both of our jaws dropped. It was enormous. It had a beautiful courtyard with freshly groomed hedges, two large terraces, pillars, and a grand oak front door.
"Excuse me, are you both Miss. Hollow and Miss. Del Corbin?" a voice asked, and we swiveled around. A woman in her mid 50's was standing there, and she was wearing a blue suit.
"Yes." I responded, and she nodded and flipped through her clipboard.
"Oh, you two make such a cute couple." she responded, and Jordan and I looked at each other and un-linked our arms swiftly.
"Haha, just best friends." I assured the realtor, and she huffed embarrassingly.
"My apologies. Let me tell you a little bit about this property. It was built in 2007, and it has 10 parking spaces, it's 8,190 square feet, it has 6 bedrooms, and 7 bathrooms. As you know, it's right on the ocean, and it has a private dock." she explained, and Jordan's jaw dropped. I just nodded.
She took us inside, and it was one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen. It was grand and beige, it had pillars everywhere, a huge fireplace, and huge windows out looking the ocean. The kitchen had white and beige marble countertops, the living room had royal white couches and a huge flatscreen, and the three bathrooms downstairs had the biggest bathtubs i'd ever seen. She then took us upstairs, and we toured the bedrooms. They all had huge windows looking out on the ocean, and they were all pale beige colored. There was a terrace that overlapped the whole house, and each bedroom had a door to that. The backyard was very tiny, and it had a fire pit, a expensive hot tub, and an outdoor couch set. The dock was gorgeous, and it even had steps into the ocean.
"Do you like it?" the realtor asked after she walked us outside. I looked at Jordan, and she nodded energetically.
"Yes." I told her, and she smiled. She knew she was going to be able to buy something pretty because of this sale.
"Wonderful, just wonderful! I am required to tell you one more thing that has been scaring off the customers. There have been murders in this house. A woman, just a year ago, drowned her husband by shoving him off the dock and pushing his head into the ocean, and around four years ago, a very rich man would lure teenage girls into this house, rape them, and then murder them. There were around 20 girls that he attacked and killed." she explained grimly, and I squinted. That was absolutely horrible.
"We'll take it." Jordan said excitedly, taking her clipboard and signing where she needed to sign. She then shoved the clipboard in my arms, and I gulped before singing. Oh well. The pen hit the paper, and we were now the new owners of this $7 million dollar murder mansion.
-----
A few days had passed, and we were all moved in. There was something off about this house, and not just because of the murders. But, Jordan was happy, and that's all that mattered. I had to pick up a few more shifts at the club because buying this house took a hit off my wallet, but it'll be fine.
I walked into the house after one of my lessons, and I put my keys down on the counter. As I walked to the fridge to fill up my hydro flask, I heard something flailing in the ocean. I waited a few seconds, and I heard screaming and yelping. I knew Jordan was at work, so it couldn't be her. Maybe one of the pets?
"Donna? Jackie?" I called for my silver cat and my chocolate lab. Yeah, I named my dog and cat after That 70's Show. So what? I heard thumping, and Donna came pounding down the stairs, her tongue hanging out of her mouth. I petted her head, and I waited to hear Jackie's bell, but I didn't.
"HELP! PLEASE!" somebody screamed, and the flailing got worse. I slammed the fridge shut and ran out to the dock, and I saw the water splashing frantically. I saw an older man and hands in the water. I rushed to the end of the dock and expected to find a person, but I found Jackie, splashing around trying to get out.
"Dios mio!" I exclaimed in part relief and part fear, and I reached down and grabbed my silver cat. I wrapped her in the bottom part of my shirt and brought her inside. As I dried her off, I heard another scream, but then it vanished. Just wonderful.

I sighed, filling up another cup of whatever the hell this was.
"Thank you for coming. Have a nice day." I said, it was automatic at this point. Filling the cup with whatever God awful mix someone decided tasted nice. Lilith was over at the register, typing in orders without looking down. She caught my eye and waved me over.
"Can you fill in for me real quick?" She asked as soon as I crossed over to her.
"Yeah sure." I said, finishing the drink I was making in my hand and giving it over to the customer. She nodded her head in thanks then dashed to the back room. I could hear a door shut right before the bell rang. "Hi welcome to starbucks how may I help you." I said, without looking up at the person. A card was slid in front of me, it was small, like a business card, with little silver letters in the middle of the white. I raised my eyebrow, glancing up at the guy. He or she, whoever they were, had on a black hoodie that was covering their face, they had on blue jeans, and black vans. You can't run in those. I thought, unconsciously judging this guy in front of me. "Would you like to order something." I said, trying again. They simply put their pointer finger on the card and slid it closer to me. I sighed, picking it up, turning it so the light glinted off the silver so that I could read it better. Silver Knives. xxx-xxx-xxxx. I looked over towards the guy, opening my mouth to ask him a question, but he was already gone. I furrowed my eyebrows, huffing.
"Thanks! Hey, whatcha got there?" Lilith asked, throwing her arm around my shoulders.
"I-" I tried to answer her, but even I didn't know what I was holding. "I honestly don't know." I finished, putting the card in my pocket. I tore my eyes away from the door and grabbed another cup for the next customer. What the hell? ---------- I pulled up towards our house. Lilith was in the passenger seat, jamming along to the song on the radio. I laughed at her upset face as I turned the car off and the music stopped.
"Come on, get out of the car idiot." I said, throwing open my door. My car was an old 2006 Ford truck. It only had two seats, and it was old, but I loved it. I had gotten it when I was in high school. After getting a few odd jobs here and there, I got enough money to afford it. It was painted a dark grey, and the door on the back had been blasted off long ago. I locked the car after Lilith shut her door, and we started towards the house. I heard a faint wail, you probably wouldn't have heard it if you were focusing on something else, but I focus on everything. As soon as I heard it, it was gone. I felt my mouth turn down into a frown as I unlocked the door. I swung it open only to come face-to-face with a gun. I quickly backed up, throwing my hands up as I did.
"Whoa, what the fuck?" I asked, looking at the person who was aiming the gun at me. It was Lola.
"Ah! Sorry!" She said, lowering the gun. "I picked it up off the counter, you know, you really shouldn't leave it laying around." She said, turning towards the kitchen. I hummed as I followed her.
"You said that about the knives too." I said, turning into the kitchen, noticing a knife face down in the wood chopping board, courtesy of me. She put my gun back on the counter where I probably left it this morning. I heard Lilith's footsteps on the stairs, probably retreating to her room to change out of the godawful starbucks uniform we both wore. I don't hate the store okay? I just hate working there. I'd get a strawberry acai lemonade any day. "Anyway, why were you pointing a gun at me?"
"I heard some noises." She said, and I turned to her.
"Noises? Anything else?" I asked, humming. She hesitated, it was only a second, but I caught it. I've trained myself over the years to recognize stuff like that. It comes in handy when calling out your siblings.
"Just noises, you know, like creaks." She said. I probably would've believed her, but rule number one of a good lie, do not hesitate.
"Nothing to point a gun over no?" I asked, turning towards the cupboards, opening them. I looked over my shoulder at her, and she looked surprised that I wasn't going to push her to reveal some traumatic life event that happened. I looked back towards the cupboards, finding them half empty.
"LILITH! ITS YOUR TURN TO GET THE FUCKING GROCERIES!" I yelled up towards her room.
"OKAY BITCH!" She yelled back, and a few seconds later, I heard a thud and an 'ow'. Lola laughed, some tension dropping from her shoulders. Lilith probably tripped over a box, she was still moving in. After we got the house, Lola realized that we'd need a third person to split the bill, she got paid a lot yes, but a $7 million house definitely put a dent in her wallet. I suggested Lilith since we both knew her and she had agreed. Hence...
"What do you want from the store fuckers." Lilith said from the kitchen entrance. ----------- I was sitting at my floor desk. I call it that because the desk was only high enough for me to sit on the floor and still be able to write comfortably. I had my laptop open in front of me. It's currently 9:45. Lola left a little bit ago and Lilith was out in the barn cleaning up. For the past hour I've been holed up in here, searching on every single search engine I could to figure out what the fuck the Silver Knives were. Every search was coming up with regular looking knives. I was starting to get frustrated, slamming my head down on the table. I took a breath, listening to the still air in my room. I heard a small sound of something creaking. I huffed, standing up, I just need some water. The creaks slowly turned into pleads and screams. My eyes widened, grabbing the gun that was resting on my dresser. I checked the gun, making sure it was still loaded. I held it in my right hand, slowly pushing open the door. I could hear the words, "No, please. Stop." and other words and phrases along those lines. I crept towards one of the vacant rooms that we had. It sounded like it was coming from there. I slowly turned the knob, now recognizing that the screams sounded like it was coming from a girl. I threw open the door, and the sounds immediately ceased. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding, lowering the gun to my side. I tilted my head back, wiping my forehead. My shoulders slumped forward as my adrenaline ran out and I closed the door again. I walked back over towards my room, utterly confused and a tad bit scared. I put the gun back on the desk, right next to the card. I looked at it again, the letters and numbers a little more visible from the dimmed light of the room. Against my better judgment, I pulled out my phone and punched in the number, labeling the contact Silver Knives. I then, also against my better judgement, hit the call button. the phone rang once and someone on the other line picked up.
"I was wondering when you'd call." They said, and I huffed.
"Yeah, yeah, who is this and what do you want." I asked.
"You're Jordan Hollow right?" The person asked. I felt my breath catch, how the fuck-
"How the fuck do you know my name?" I practically yelled into the phone.
"We have our sources. We also know what you can do. Do you want money?" They asked, and I looked around my room, remembering the cost of the house. I don't want Lola to do all of the heavy lifting.
"How much are we talking?" I asked, looking towards my computer where different types of knives were displayed.
"I'd say around ten thousand a hit." They responded, and my eyes widened.
"I'm talking to a hitman company aren't I." I said, my voice coming out flat, disappointed that I hadn't figured it out earlier.
"We take time picking out who we recruit, you'll be working under Will's team. They work great. Consider yourself lucky. We'll send you the building location. You'll meet everyone when you get here and pick up the files for your first mission." They said, sounding like there was no room for arguing.
"Wait, when did I say I wanted the job." I said, narrowing my eyes at my mirror.
"You called us didn't you? Will'll meet you when you first get here to introduce you to your team. Have a nice day." The phone clicked, and I looked down at the message that was now displayed on the screen.
xxxxx BBBBBBBBB Avenue. xxxxxx CA. Will's Team Wilbur - Team Leader, AKA Will or Soot Thomas - Right hand, AKA Tommy or Tommyinnit Toby - Thomas’s best friend, he likes bees, AKA Tubbo Dave - #2 overall (Fights with Clay for position), AKA Techno or blade Phil - Dad of the group, also medic, AKA Philza Clay - #1 overall (Fights with Dave for position), AKA Dream George - One of Clay's mission partners, AKA 404 or NotFound Nick - One of Clay's mission partners, AKA Sapnap Zak - Crazy bastard, always works with Darryl, AKA Skeppy Darryl - Nice, kills for fun (But only when he's in the mood), always works with Zak, AKA Bad or Halo
And now me. I thought, finishing the message. Another one pinged through immediately after.
Please respond with your code name
I hummed thinking for a second, typing in Chaos. I put the phone down, looking over towards the clock. It read 10:55. Looks like I have to do my homework early tomorrow.

I opened the door to the over sized house, shivering a bit as the cool fall air turned into a comforting warmth from the house. I entered the kitchen, sighing when I saw the milk left out on the counter for God knows how long. I quickly picked up the half empty jug and set in the fridge, hoping it hadn't been out for too long. Who to blame... Remembering that Lola was out “working” for the night, I decided to confront the only other suspect. Who has cereal at almost 10 pm? I sighed, making my way across the large kitchen to the nearest stair case, surprising myself when I found it first try. Though I had been moved in for a while, it still takes a couple guesses to find the right hallway. Slightly out of breath from skipping up the stairs, I made my way down the long hallway. I walked past my room, and looked up ahead. Jordan's light was still on. Probably homework, I thought. I closed in on the large wooden door and reached my hand out for the out-dated golden door knob. Just as a went to close the distance, I heard Jordan's faint voice. “Wait, when did I say I wanted the job.” It was more of a statement than a question. I smiled to myself and retracted my outstretched hand. At least she found a better job than fucking Star Bucks, I thought. Sure, the pay was decent but dealing with basic blonde girls all day got old. I should look for a new job, I really got to pay off Lola. I let out a snort as walked back down the hall to my room. “I can't believe I'm in debt to a stripper”. Lola had graciously offered to pay most of the 7 million upfront for the house, but that didn't mean that Jordan and I were off the hook. I entered my room and stood for a few seconds before deciding to change into sweats and an over sized shirt before laying down for the night. I thought about staying up until Lola got back, but it would be a couple hours. I sighed as my back hit the soft mattress, relieved by the cool air and darkness of the room. California can be a bit to sunny sometimes. -------- It wasn't until I heard the crashing of metal downstairs that I woke up. I hastily kicked the covers off of the much to large bed and stepped out onto my small rug. It took a couple of blinks to gain some focus. I winced at the crack of light peaking through the curtains. I shifted my gaze to the electronic clock plugged in at my nightstand. 8:30 am. Suddenly remember why I was startled awake, I slowly made my way to the door of my room. I didn't think to much of the murders or screaming noises that Lola and Jordan mentioned when first arrived, however their words where loud in my head now. As much as I thought that they were silly stories, I couldn't help but inhale sharply as my door let out a creak. Before my mind created more unreasonable conclusions about a haunted mansion, the clanging of metal was heard again, but this time it was followed by shouts in a foreign but familiar language. I sighed in relief, allowing my shoulders to drop along with my tension. I made my way down the steps and found Lola making eggs in a large cast iron pan. She spun around when she heard me shift to sit at one of the high chairs at the kitchen island. “Your up early”, I spoke up first. “Same could be said for you,” she retorted. “Only because someone had some trouble reaching the pans in the upper cabinet,” I teased. She let out a snicker before returning her attention to the stove. “What's for breakfast?” “Just some eggs, for me of course. You need to make your own. I'm heading out to the barn earlier today” By this time Jordan had made it downstairs, slowly making her way to the kitchen island and taking a seat beside me. “Good morning” Lola greeted, not removing her gaze from the pan. “Morning',” she mumbled back, clearly not fully awake yet. I thought about mentioning last nights phone call, but shrugged it off. She'll tell us eventually. My train of thought was interrupted as she stood up and walked to the fridge, retrieving the milk and preparing herself some cereal. She ate quickly before setting her bowl in the sink and leaving to exit the room, leaving the milk out again “Someone's in a hurry” I called after her as she walked away. “Your welcome for putting the milk away... again” I said as I stood up and returned the milk to the fridge. Without receiving a reply from Jordan, I looked over to see Lola chewing her breakfast. “That's a shit ton of Tajín,” (do people but Tajin seasoning on eggs? I think so) I scoffed. “Those better be some good eggs. You nearly gave me a heart attack this morning." She waved her free hand as if to dismiss me and gave a smile.

Look back, watch that Smack that...
"Everyone please give a warm welcome to la pantera!!" the announcer called, and whoots and whistles started echoing through the club.
"Good luck out there tonight." my best friend from the club, Lindsay, whispered to me. I pushed the red curtains open, and I strutted out to the center of the stage. I scanned the audience as I grabbed the pole. Just the same old 35-50 year old dads and husbands who came from their office jobs who told their wives they were at a bar, but not which bar they were at, the 55-65 year old men with no wives or grand kids, and the occasional group of boys in their 20s. I started my dance, twirling around and moving rhythmically to the music on the pole. Bills after bills were thrown at me, a few landing on my pumps or in my bra. That's Malibu's feed for the next month.
When I finished that half of my dance, I broke away from the pole, and strutted on the edge of the stage. The men tried to touch my heels, and a few got lucky. I stopped in the middle and squatted down, and I shook my thick hair out. That got a few cheers. I rubbed my shoulders and looked to the crowd, and I moved my rear as I scanned the audience. As I looked around, the men all looked the same, except one. He looked really familiar, but he wasn't a regular. He had a rounded face, a grey stubble, a bald head, and he had a dad like figure. He was wearing a white and blue striped office shirt, black office pants, and loafers. I stopped my little dance and stared right at him, and he looked up from his drink and locked eyes with me. When his eyes locked with mine, I heard the scream from yesterday echoing through my head, and I saw the man and the arms in the water. He was the drowning man that ended up being my cat! But how? As soon as I made the realization, he smiled at me, and I fell back and started to scream without realizing it. Lindsay came running from backstage, along with a few other dancers, and they drug me to the back. All I can remember is people talking and pouring water on me, but everything went black.
------ My eyes fluttered open, and my hands flew to my face. I started to rub my eyes, and I scanned the room. I was sitting in a vanity chair backstage, and most of my friends from the club were surrounding me with glasses of water and wet towels. I bet the others were trying to keep the men entertained.
"What..." I groaned, and Lindsay felt around my face, checking my temperature.
"Girl, you passed out! Are you ok? You are the main act, you've never done this before!" she exclaimed, hugging my shoulders. I looked around, confused. All the girls looked really scared, a few with flushed cheeks.
"Why do you all look so worried?" I asked.
"When you passed out, you started shaking and throwing up. We thought you were having a relapse or something." Lindsay explained, and I furrowed my eyebrows defensively.
"I have never put a needle in my vein, ever. I guess I just had a long night last night, and my body was tired..." I assured her, but the face of the man from the water kept playing through my head.
------ I tried to sleep that night, but I couldn't. I was able to finish my dance and make my normal $600-700, but that man's face kept playing through my mind, along with his screams. I tossed and turned and didn't shut my eyes once. I never once have let anything affect my job, especially not a man. But it DEFINITELY wasn't about attraction that messed me up. It was something disturbing that I couldn't put my finger on. Just the thought of him shot a chill through my spine. Whatever. I decided to get out of bed and make some eggs. As I thumped down the stairs, Donna followed me, and her paws hit the steps heavily. I shuffled through our pots and pans until I found a medium size pan.
“Your up early”, a voice spoke, and I spun around to find Lilith entering the kitchen.
“Same could be said for you,” I spat in a joking way, and she laughed.
“Only because someone had some trouble reaching the pans in the upper cabinet,” she teased, and I stuck out my tongue and shook my head.
“What's for breakfast?” she asked.
“Just some eggs, for me of course. You need to make your own. I'm heading out to the barn earlier today." I explained, masking the fear and anxiousness I felt. I knew Malibu would solve all that. I turned away from her to continue scrambling my eggs, and I heard Jordon stumble into the kitchen.
“Good morning” I greeted, not removing my gaze from the pan.
“Morning',” she mumbled back groggily.
I scooped the eggs onto my plate, and I pinched some tajin on my eggs. Mi madre always made sure to sprinkle some on literally everything I ate.
"That's a shit ton of tajin." Lilith said, judging me in a joking way. I stuck my tongue out at her and continued wolfing down my eggs.
"Ok. I'm going to the barn." I told them, grabbing my keys and walking to my mustang.
-----
As I walked down the aisle, I heard the sound of horses chewing, birds chirping, and stirrups clanging. I looked at the stall plates, and I saw in big yellow letters burnt onto a piece of wood that spelt "Malibu."
"Hi hone-" I started, but stopped when I saw a familiar man petting my horse. The man from the club, from the water. I gasped, and fell back again.

"Morning." I muttered, groggily making my way over to the fridge. I had barely slept last night, I kept hearing creaks in the walls. I made myself a bowl of cereal and sat down at the table. Lilith looked up at me and opened her mouth as if she wanted to say something, but she decided against it and looked back down again. I finished my cereal in record time, wanting to go see what this new job had to offer. Of course, I'll still be working at Starbucks because I still haven't put in my two weeks notice, I'll have to do that soon. I threw my bowl in the sink and rushed out of the kitchen and into the hallway.
"Someone's in a hurry!" Lilith shouted down the hallway. I didn't feel like replying to her as I pulled my keys off the rack. They had a lanyard attached to them, so that I knew which one was mine. The lanyard was red and black with a checkered pattern. My lanyard matched my flannel that I was wearing with my jean shorts and black vans. My hair was parted to the side after I decided to wear it down because I wasn't heading to Starbucks where pulled-back hair was required. I flung the door open after checking my phone was in my pocket and booked it towards the car. ------- I parked my car in front of an office building. I held up my phone, checking three times if this was the address I was sent. After making sure it was the right one, I checked that my gun was still in it's holder on my belt and hidden by my flannel. I got out of the car and closed the door, making sure to lock it at least three times. This is a hitman company, I have to be safe. Although I'm not completely out of my element here, I've been shooting guns since I was seven, I was still a little cautious. I opened the front door, expecting no one to be there, but there were tons of people rushing around. It looked like a business, and probably to everyone else, it was. There was a man standing near the back, occasionally checking his watch. He had on a grey beanie, covering some of his curly brown hair. He was holding a file in his left hand, checking his watch on the other. Another guy, that was a bit shorter than him, ran up to his right. He had blonde hair that looked like it was going to bounce off of his head. He looked energetic, and his yelling carried across the room.
"When's the new one coming?" He asked, he definitely had a british accent. The taller, more professional looking one turned to him and said something that I couldn't hear, and the other one calmed a bit. "Her code name is Chaos right?" He asked, and thanks to his yelling, I heard it. The other nodded in conformation and I sighed and walked over. I put on a smile and walked over to them.
"Hi! I think I might've gotten lost, you see, someone messaged me yesterday, they said they'd meet me here. They said it wouldn't have many people, so I don't think I have the right place." I said, and the guy laughed.
"You're good. Probably would've believed you were some random stranger that got lost if I didn't already know what you looked like." He said, and my smile dropped into a smirk. "I'm Wilbur, your captain, this one here," He said, motioning to the guy beside him, "Is Thomas, and probably the only reason you're standing there." He turned and started walking, and Thomas followed him.
"You're going to love this. Tubbo, my best friend, he makes these gadgets-"
"Yes, Tommy, we're getting there." Wilbur said, turning to open a door. "This is our meeting room, where oH MY GOD WATCH IT." He yelled as a ball was thrown right at his head.
"Sorry! Habit." A guy in a light blue hoodie, with what looked like a derp face on the front said, shrugging.
"Really Zak?" Wilbur said, sighing. He then turned back to me, "This is my gang of misfits. This is as good as it gets." He said, pointing to the half clean meeting room. "That's Zak," He said, pointing to the one that threw the ball at him, "That's Darryl." He pointed to another guy with short brown hair and glasses, "That's Dave." He pointed to a guy in the corner, his hair was dyed pink, and he was wearing a crown on his head. "That's Clay, George, and Nick." He said, pointing to a trio of guys near the water dispenser, shaking it. The one on the left had on a green hoodie, and had dirty blonde hair. The guy next to him had white clout goggles on his brown hair, and he was wearing a blue supreme looking shirt. The guy next to him was wearing a black long sleeve shirt under a white shirt that had a flame on it, and a white cloth was tied around his light brown hair. "That's Phil." He said, pointing to a guy with blonde hair, clutching his head and looking stressed, a white and green striped bucket hat on the table in front of him. "Over there is Nicky, she's just here for emotional help." He said, pointing to a girl with blonde hair who was trying to stop Clay, George, and Nick from whatever they were doing. "And that's Toby." He finished, pointing to a guy that was fiddling with gadgets on the end of the table, his green button up shirt missing a few buttons. He pushed his hand through his brown hair, looked up, smiled and waved. "LISTEN UP YOU SHITS." Wilbur yelled, and everyone stopped and looked at him, "This is Jordan, our newest member. Her code name is Chaos." Everyone collectively started yelling, except for Dave, who stayed silent, and Phil, who looked like his head was going to explode. Thomas grabbed my arm and dragged me over towards Toby.
"Hi! You're going to need to have a few things." He said, shaking my hand before looking back towards the table.
"Toby here, is the best technician on site." Thomas said, smiling, "And my best friend."
Toby laughed, "That's right." He held up a small black thing. "This is your earpiece. It's supposed to stay in your ear the whole time, in case something happens to one of us and we need backup." He said handing it to me. "Once it's in your ear, you have to double-tap to unmute and mute with hands free. Press and hold to unmute temporarily, releasing it mutes again." He explained as I put it in my ear. He looked at me again then held out a gun. It looked like a regular pistol, just black. "This is a silencer, it shoots quietly and quickly. Ten rounds can be shot before cocking it again." I took the gun and admired it, smiling a bit. He then picked up a sniper rifle that was leaning on the table. "This is a sniper with zoom technology. Helps you pick out the target from wherever you're at." He said, holding it out to me by the strap.
"I don't really-" I started, then was cut off by Dave.
"Toby gives you a weapon," He said, holding up a sword that looked like it glowed a little, "that's your weapon. He's never wrong." Clay nodded behind him, pulling out an axe that had a few buttons on the handle. He smiled, then swung the axe around toward Nick's head, narrowly missing as Nick ducked.
"What the hell man?" He said, pulling out a sword of his own. A second later there was an arrow and a throwing knife in the ceiling. The arrow from George after Nick hit him trying to get around him to get to Clay. The knife belonged to Darryl, who was leaning against the wall next to Zak.
"Enough you muffin heads." He said, looking at me and swinging a shotgun around his shoulder and into his hands. He smiled at me, "This is from Toby, the knives are mine. He makes the best weapons out of anyone."
"That's a fact." Zak said from right next to him. I looked back at the sniper rifle, and slung it around my shoulders.
"Thanks." ------- I was in the living room, wiping down the silencer I'd gotten. I had been given specific instructions from Toby to clean them once a week, otherwise they won't give their top performance. The communicator was silent in my ear, not even giving off any white noise like a normal phone would if there was silence on both ends. Honestly, it was pretty impressive. I heard footsteps coming down the hall, and I looked up as Lilith walked through the entrance.
"Where'd you get those?" She asked, pointing at the new weapons.
I shrugged, "The gun shop." I responded easily. I heard a scream, and my head snapped up towards the ceiling. I looked outside, seeing Lola practicing her dressage on her horse. I looked over at Lilith, "Did you hear that?" I asked, and she looked at me confused.
"Hear what?" She said, turning her head up towards the ceiling too.
"You really didn't hear that?" I asked, getting up. She got up too, confused. I walked towards the stairs, switching out the silencer with my own pistol since Toby wanted to show me how to use it properly before I blasted my own head off. I checked the cartridge, making sure that it was full. I took the stairs two at a time, hearing Lilith follow me.
"Help me!" Someone yelled, and I rushed forward and into the hallway. There was a girl, and she was being dragged by a man towards the guest bedroom that I heard the noises in the night before. My eyes widened, and I brought up my gun.
"What the fuck are you doing-" Lilith hissed, but she was cut off by me loading four bullets into the guy. She screamed behind me, but I kept going. I blinked, and they were gone. My eyes widened after I realized I had just unloaded almost the whole cartridge in the wall across the hallway. I barely registered Lilith's hands on my shoulders and the door slamming down stairs. I took a shaky breath, stumbling forward, leaning my arm on the wall. I looked over to where Lilith, and now Lola, were standing on the stairs. Lilith's face was white, and Lola looked shocked.
"There was a man."

"C'mon, peleton, you got this!" Jess King shouted from the screen of my Peleton. I turned up my resistance and started pushing hard, and beads of sweat fell down my face. I looked at the timer in the left corner. Ten minutes left. Great. I can totally get my output above 200. I pushed harder and harder, and when the climb was over, I managed to pass 4 people on the leaderboard.
"Flat road, good job...." Jess cheered, and I smiled and reached over to the shelf to grab my hydro flask. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see the two other Peletons in the room, completely untouched by anyone but me. I bought them for Lilith and Jordan, but they never use them, so every day I use a different bike. I might just see if somebody wants to lease it so at least somebody else can use it.
"Alright Peleton, time for some speed intervals..." Jess said, and I turned to put my hydroflask back on the shelf. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw somebody sitting on Lilith's Peleton, and I dropped my hydroflask on the floor and gasped. I turned my head completely to look, and nobody was there. I sat still for a few seconds, and then picked up the hydroflask, placed it on the shelf, and finished my ride.
"Great job, Peleton..." Jess said, and I smiled and did the end of the ride stretches. When I finished, I hopped off the bike and sat down on the bench, and started to take off my cycling shoes.
"Please, don't touch me there...i'm saving...." a voice echoed, and my head shot up and my heart dropped.
"myself for....Nathan...after marriage...." the voice said again, and I slowly stood up and started to breathe heavy.
"PLEASE! DON'T! AH!...." the voice yelled, and I grabbed my phone and my hydroflask and ran out of the room. As I ran out, Donna pummeled into me, and I went tumbling on the floor.
"Augh.." I groaned as I was greeted by an impending headache and lots of chocolate lab kisses on my face. I grabbed the wall railing and stood up, and shook myself off.
"You ok?" Jordan asked, coming up behind me. I screamed and almost fell again.
"No...no I heard a girl's voice in the Peleton room, she said she was saving herself for somebody...I..." I explained, and Jordan shook her head.
"This isn't about the other night, is it?" Jordan said, rolling her eyes. They both said we were just tired and that it was nothing. It had to be something, though. I have seen the man at the club and the stables, the man in the hallway, and now a girl's voice.
"No, no it's something, there's no way it's not something." I pleaded, and she rolled her eyes.
"You're fine." she responded, and walked downstairs.
------- Tonight was my night to cook. I know they secretly dreaded it, not because I am a horrible cook (I am a fabulous cook, i've been told), it's just the fact that everything I make is beyond spicy and they can't handle it. I think it's funny.
"Does anyone want chili sauce on their masa tamales?" I called, and got no response. I shook my head and assumed no. I put two masa tamales on everyone's plates, along with arroz con pollo, frijoles, and grilled peppers. I put the plates on the table, and they heard that, and came running.
"Food!" Jordan yelled, sliding into her chair and immediatley digging in. Lilith ate peacefully while Jordan wolfed everything down. About a minute after she ate some arroz, she started panting and grabbed her water.
"What THE FUCK is in this rice?!" she exclaimed, eating a bite of tamale to calm her tongue.
"Haha! The menu tonight is hand rolled masa tamales, arroz con pollo, but the arroz has chile y habanero tomatoes in it. The frijoles are normal." I explained, and Jordan groaned.
"Whyyyy does everything you make have to be so authentic Mexican? Why can't it be the plain, easy, mild store bought stuff?" she complained sarcastically, and I rolled my eyes and stuck my tongue out at her. It was mostly peaceful as we ate, until the end. As we finished our meals, we could hear banging and clanging from upstairs.
"Jackie?" I called, thinking it was my cat. We waited a few seconds, and then a huge bang and scream echoed. We all looked at each other, and then ran up the stairs and looked around. It happened again, coming from the Peleton room. We all burst into the room, and for a split second, we saw a teenage amish girl being defiled by an older, rich man. And then they vanished.

There was silence in the room. It was, undoubtedly, the same room that I had loaded eleven bullets into the door. My heart was pounding, and all I could hear was the heavy breathing of Lilith and Lola. Lilith was standing in the middle of the room since she'd gone in first. Lola was a little behind her and I was leaning against the door frame.
"Can we all agree that we just saw that." Lola said, breaking the silence.
"We're just-" Lilith started, then Lola exploded.
"NO! No, we aren't. We aren't tired, we aren't hallucinating, we're seeing these things. They're real." She said, turning to me, a pleading look on her face, "Right?" She whispered. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, my fingers brushing over a hole in the doorway.
"Let's just go finish eating dinner." I said, there was no way that I could deny what we just saw. Especially if we saw the same thing. Lilith was trying to compare this to logic and visibly very disturbed.
"I- I think I'll just go feed the horses." Lilith said, pushing past me and down the stairs.
"Now do you believe me?" Lola asked softly. She looked so defeated, her eyes watching my face. I kept it neutral, not giving any indication of what I was thinking.
"I'm going to go finish dinner." I said, and I turned. I walked down the stairs, robotically. I was drained, this morning I'd gone through difficult training, courtesy of Toby and Wilbur, and I almost shot Thomas in the head when he ran right in front of the gun. On the plus side I could work the silencer correctly and I realized how good of a sniper I was. My head was pounding when I got down the stairs, barely able to make it to the kitchen. My stomach growled for more food when I sat down at the table, but my brain said to ignore it, it'll make the headache worse. The food was half gone anyway, Lilith still had more on her plate than I did. I held my head in my hands, taking deep breaths to level out my breathing. I heard Lola come down the stairs a few seconds later, but she went straight to the living room and switched on the tv.
"Target hit in downtown Starbucks. Police got there first. Sorry Wilbur." Was the message that flooded through the communicator. It sounded like Clay.
"Are you serious Clay. I send you to do one job. ONE"
"I said I was sorry!"
"This is what you get for sending him alone."
"Nobody cares TeChNobLaDe"
"Guys that's enough. Clay I'm no longer sending you on solo missions, that was a bad idea in the first place."
"Aw but Will-"
"Nope." The communicator went dead after that. I sighed, that was the Starbucks I worked at. That'll be fun in the afternoon.
"Hey Jordan! Isn't that the Starbucks you work at?" Lola yelled from the living room. Apparently she'd been watching the news.
"Now it's all over the news stupid"
"When did I ask for your opinion Nick" I rolled my eyes and got up from the table. I walked into the living room, looking at the tv.
"Oh yeah! That is." I said, acting surprised.
"Do you have to go into work tomorrow?" She asked, raising her eyebrow.
"God I hope not." I said, laughing a bit. "Don't you have work in an hour?" I asked, and she checked her phone.
"Yeah, you going to call your boss?" She asked, standing up from the couch and grabbing the remote.
"Yeah, probably, I want any excuse to not go to work tomorrow." I said smiling at her. She smiled back. She was about to leave the room when I grabbed her arm, "Anything happens, tell me okay?" I asked, I knew about her incident at work, one of her friends had called her emergency number, which was apparently me. Also, her bar was the hot spot for the hitman since the targets almost always went there to get a drink. It was the easiest way to get a hit done and out of the way, and apparently they'd opened fire on everyone there more than once. Lola stared at me for a second, then slowly nodded her head and made her way over to the stairs. I sighed, letting go of her arm. I looked out the window, over where Lilith was mechanically petting the horses. She was daydreaming, that much I could tell. If I remember correctly, this was her first actual encounter in the house so far. I would've felt bad for her, if we weren't experiencing the same thing.
"All of you get your fucking asses over here now." ----------- Wilbur was standing at the front of the table, staring us all down. Darryl and Zak were leaning up against the opposite wall. Dave was leaning back in his chair across from me. Thomas was standing a bit behind Wilbur, his hands behind his back. Toby was sitting on Wilbur's right. Clay, George, and Nick were sitting towards the other end of the table on the left. Phil was staring disappointingly at Clay across from him. And Niki was sitting on Wilbur's right side, next to me.
"Now that I've got you shits here, Clay, do you want to tell us what the fuck happened?" Wilbur said, glaring at the man in the green jacket. A small 'language' was said in the background.
"Listen, you handed me a file, and I did the job. The only downfall was that I couldn't call the removal team fast enough and the police found the body." Clay said shrugging.
"And??" Wilbur asked exasperatedly. Clay just looked confused.
"That was it." He said, shrugging again.
"You also forgot to put on gloves." Phil said, still looking utterly disappointed. "At least ones that cover your fingerprints." Clay opened his mouth to say something but a sharp laugh cut Clay off before he could say anything.
"You forgot gloves! How many times has this happened so far?" Dave laughed from across the table. Clay opened his mouth to speak again before Wilbur cut him off.
"They're going to undoubtedly pull you in again." Wilbur said, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"You're bailing him out right?" George piped up from next to Clay.
"Of fucking course we are, I'm not stupid." Wilbur said, "But I'm going to leave you in there for a week. Hopefully then you'll remember gloves." He said, waving a hand at Clay. "Go home, they're probably looking for you already. The rest of you stay here." Clay got up, throwing his axe at Toby.
"The left button broke." He simply said before leaving. Toby nodded, then sat back down. George looked visibly sadder the moment he was gone, but no one called him out on it. Dave looked smug after he was gone, humming to himself. Wilbur was still standing at the end of the table, looking through a few files. He slid one to Dave, one to George, one to me, and chucked the last one towards the back of the room to where Darryl and Zak were.
"Darryl, you're with Zak, don't kill too many people." Wilbur sighed, waving a hand at them, Darryl simply nodded and opened the file, Zak leaning around his arm to look at it too. "George, Nick, you're down one, make it work." He muttered, barely looking at them, George simply nodded and opened the file and positioned it so they could both see. "Dave, don't be an idiot." He said, putting a hand on his forehead. Dave simply smiled and shook his head. "Jordan, everything's in there. Don't let me down." He said, then he waved both of his hands. "You're all dismissed." --------- I waited until I was in my room under the cover of homework to open the file a second time. Darryl and Zak had been the first ones to leave after Clay. Followed by Thomas, George, and Nick. I didn't exactly know what Thomas did, he mostly just followed Wilbur around, but who knows, maybe he was a good coder or something. I'd left directly after Nick, getting a few confused glances from Dave. Probably because I was handed a solo mission so early. They gave me the number for the cleanup team. "Just give them a call after the guy's dead. They'll report back to me and you'll get your reward the next day." Wilbur had said when I asked. I flipped open the file, looking at the guy again. He looked to be forty, or somewhere around there. His name was irrelevant, as was his height, I was probably just going to snipe him from a building. I checked his description Frequents the club downtown, usually drinks heavily when there. Ex-husband to Sally Heel. Works at Blue-Orange offices. Reward: $10,000 I hummed, 10,000? Not bad. Looks easy too. I heard a knock at my door and I looked up and closed the file, shoving it under my dresser.
"Come in!" I said, and the door creaked open to reveal Lilith. She looked around my room for a second, then rubbed her arm.
"Want to go to the club tomorrow night?" She asked hesitantly. Perfect.
"Uh sure? But why?" I asked, standing up. "You never show any real interest in going."
"I just don't wanna be here for a night ya know?" She said, her hand gripping her arm.
"I getcha, we should probably tell Lola though. She'd definitely be shocked if we just walk into the bar without her knowledge." I said, laughing a bit. The only reason we went to the club Lola works at is because she can easily let us in without having to check our ages or for weapons. All she had to do was distract the bouncer for a bit and we were in, easy peasy.
"I just need a drink, nothing big though. I just need to get out of the house." She muttered, before turning around and walking out. I hummed, thank you Lilith for providing me the perfect cover.

“I just need a drink.” I muttered, then followed it up with “nothing big though, I just need to get out of the house.” To be honest I really didn't drink much of the time. I mean, I'm 18. Somehow Lola and Jordan end up coming home with alcohol half the time. I never ask, and to be frank I don't want to know where it comes from, just gladly accept it. I found it ironic that Lola was able to work at the bar. Sure, she is an adult, but she can't drink yet. She had explained it as “younger girls makes better business” which made sense, unfortunately. I shuddered at the thought of all the middle aged men we would run into, throwing their children's future tuition money at the dancers. In the end it wouldn't matter too much, Lola would end up with the money, that's really the only important thing, yeah? Yeah. I mulled over the thought for a bit longer as I made my way to me bedroom. I really hadn't done a whole lot since I moved in. Its not like I had a full 8-5 job like most people. I worked at Star Bucks Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6-12. Usually the busiest times. Occasionally I would pick up another day if they offered or needed help. Extra money never hurt anybody. Finally I reached room and stood before deciding that I should probably ride Lucifer or Serya. It was nice to have them on the property. I never trained with many trainers anymore. Every now and then I would go to clinics, but there was no need, I could manage on my own. I had decided to take this show season a little more chill with the whole move. There was a nice sized arena for a Dressage court and another one which I kept jumps up constantly. I stepped outside walked past them to the nice sized indoor barn. There where six stalls, a tack room, feed room, three cross ties and nice clean isle ways. Lola still keeps Malibu at the Laguna Dressage Society, in which I don't blame her. It's a very nice facility. Maybe one day I could convince her to move her here. It would give one of the other stalls a purpose I suppose. I shoved open the heavy doors and made my way for the overhead light switch. It was only 4 pm, but it was awfully overcast out. Not much light made it through the large windows at either end of the barn or through the outdoor half of the stalls.
I looked down the isle as I made my way to the switch. A little girl in a white dress stood, looking up at Lucifer who's head hung lazily out of the stall. Her gown gave off a light colored glow, and her skin was unnaturally pale. She stood directly in front of him, reaching her hands out, almost touching his muzzle. She was right there, but he didn't seem to notice. I turned my head to look back to the light switch, then I realized. Oh.I looked back at the little girl, who now turned to look at me. Oh. Oh god. I should not be seeing this. She isn't supposed to be here. Well, she probably wasn't, but regardless this was happening when it shouldn't be. Lola, Jordan and I have been collectively trying our best to push it off as “we are just seeing things”, but recently we are beginning to realize it is more real than it should be. I quickly reached for the light and flicked it up. A low hum was heard throughout the barn, and two delayed seconds later the over head lights flickered to life. Just like in the movies, along with the dark, the small girl vanished. I shook my head as if to clear it, knowing it wouldn't help my situation at all.

Like oh, you know they want it Ay, ándale Oh, you know we got it Ah, smile we say Soy Latina baby
I dropped down to a low squat, still holding the pole. It was a packed Friday night, so we had to do our best performance. I shot right back up to my feet and I grabbed the pole, and spun around with one of my pumps on the ground, and the other resting on my knee. My head was snapped back and my long hair was draping down as I spun. When I finished, I strutted around the corners of the stage, and then the song stopped. After the song stops, the men usually flood us with cash, which is what happened. I stuffed the cash in my bra and blew the audience a kiss, and I walked backstage. I walked to the vanity room and slumped down in a chair, but someone lightly tapped my shoulder.
"Lola, you're needed in room 4." my boss, Jennifer, told me, and I sighed. Lap dances usually pay well, but i'm so tired. Not just from dancing, but from everything going on.
"Ok..." I responded. I quickly reapplied mascara and highlighter, and I fixed my hair. I walked in the lobby, and as I made my way there, I heard familiar voices.
"Lola!" someone shouted, and I looked to the bar, and there were Lilith and Jordan.
"The fuck are you guys doing here?" I asked.
"Enjoying our Friday night." Lilith responded, and I shook my head. I could hear Jordan jokingly yell "We're gonna reserve a room!", which meant lapdances or blowjobs, but I shook my head and entered room 4. As expected, a middle aged overweight man sat in the middle of the big red velvet booth. In these rooms, there was one huge red couch that went from every side of the room, and all of the lights were dim. The walls had a tuscan print on them and the carpet was a tuscan pattern as well.
"Hey there..." I said in my fake seductive voice that made the men think I was actually into them. He chuckled and smiled at me, and I stood in front of him and squatted down backwards, but not enough to touch him. I lightly moved my rear back and forth, and I looked back at him. He was fighting every urge not to touch me. I then moved forward and put my hands on the coffee table in the middle, and I started lightly twerking. I'm glad to be hispanic, because it naturally gives us some ass. He chuckled and watched, and I saw the middle of his pants rise. Gross. I played along and licked my lips, and I started to twerk in a different direction, which made his pants rise more. He put three $100 bills in my under garments, and I decided to moan a little for him, which he enjoyed. That'll buy my next bridle. I looked away from him and towards the curtains in the front, and the minute my eyes met the curtain, I saw an amish girl with no clothes on, and her girl area had loads of blood dripping from it. Her neck was purple with fingerprints, her eyes were crusty with tears, her stomach had bruises on it, and her bonnet was torn and tattered.
"Help....me..." she said demonically, and then she vanished. I stopped twerking, and I fell to my side, the blood draining from my face.
"Woah, are you ok?" the man asked, his boner fading. He dropped down and grabbed me, and he helped me stand up.
"Please....help...." a voice rang in my ears, and I looked around. I then saw her again, and she was screaming and crying, and her stomach was moving in and out as new purple knuckle marks appeared. She then looked at me and smiled, and lunged at me. I screamed and fell into the man, but nothing grabbed me and I was fine.
"What's going on here?!" Jennifer yelled, yanking the curtains open.
"NO touching our girls! Come, Lola..." she screamed, grabbing me from the man and escorting me to the backstage. Lilith and Jordan saw me, but they couldn't follow because backstage was strippers only.
"Baby, are you ok?" Jennifer asked, looking around my body to see where he touched me. I didn't know what to say.
"Honey, take the night off, we will talk tomorrow." she told me, smiling. I looked up at her with wide eyes.
"You're not firing me, right? Please Jen, I..." I pleaded, and she laughed.
"Of course not, you're the best baby dancer* we got! We gotta get you past baby dancer someday soon, though, because they love you out there. Go get some rest." she told me, helping me out of my chair and handing me my personalized robe they gave us to wear out of the club. I gave her a hug, and walked out to Lilith and Jordan, who were waiting for me.
"What happened?" Lilith asked.
"I saw that girl from the Peleton room...she is following us..." I explained, and Jordan hit her palm to her face.
"There is no such thing as ghosts. We are fine. You just need a therapist or something, this job is obviously getting to you." she exclaimed angrily.
"Was it something I did? I'm sorry, here, take some more..." a voice rang, and the man from the room appeared behind me and stashed four extra $100 in my hand.
"No, I..." I started, but he shook his head to tell me to be quiet, and he walked over to the bar to end the conversation.
"Let's just go home, we all need sleep." Lilith said, and she walked us out. I climbed in my yellow mustang, since they carpooled without me knowing they were coming. I took a deep breath and then started to drive home. It's ok, it's ok.
----- "He's a hitman?" Piper said in an asking tone.
"Mhm." Joyce responded, licking her finger.
"Oh thank god, I thought he was a rapist." Piper exclaimed, making a huge sigh. I laughed. Usually I don't rewatch season 2 of Orange Is The New Black because Alex isn't in it and I only rewatch it for Alex and Piper parts, but it's so funny.
"You know, Jordan's been acting off, maybe she works for a hitman." I muttered to Jackie, who meowed and nustled into my leg. I laughed and continued watching. A few minutes later, my sheets flapped up and down. Jackie screeched and jumped off the bed.
"What the fuck?!" I exclaimed, following her. I waited a few moments, and then saw a bulge under my sheets. I gulped and quickly snatched them off, and I saw a head. It was a blonde girl. She had the same bonnet on, the same eyes, and the same bruised neck. Her eyes were rolled into the back of her head and he mouth was wide open.
"JORDAN, LILITH!!!!" I screamed.

What the hell. I thought when I stepped back into my room. I opened the file again for the umpteenth time since I'd gotten home. The same information was written - likes to frequent the strip club down town, usually Friday nights. I threw the file down onto my bed in frustration. This was all the information I had? None of the guys there looked remotely close to this guy. I closed my eyes and let out a breath, leaning my head back, putting a hand on my forehead. I heard my name screeched from down the hall, followed by Lilith's. My eyes shot open and I turned towards my door, grabbing my pistol off of my dresser. I ran down the hallway, towards the scream. I threw open Lola's room, she was holding her cat, Jackie, and staring wide eyed at the bed. On the bed, was a head, a blonde girl with her eyes rolled into the back of her head. There was no blood coming out of the head, meaning she'd been dead for a while. I put my head in my hands, the butt of the pistol pressing against my forehead. Lilith, out of breath, appeared in the doorway. I started pacing back and forth in the room, waving my hands around. Lilith just stood there staring at the head. I kept pacing, glancing at the head and to Lola and Lilith, back and forth. I eventually stopped, facing them, waving a hand out toward the head.
"We can all see that right." I said, pointing to it. They both nodded their heads slowly. "Good God." I muttered, walking over towards it.
"What in the absolute fuck are you doing." Lilith hissed at me. I reached out with the tip of my pistol, expecting to touch it and it would vanish. Although, when the gun made contact, it didn't vanish. I pulled the gun away quickly, still half expecting the thing to vanish, but it just sat there, looking creepy as ever.
"Dear God." I mumbled, pulling away from it and resuming my frantic pacing.
"How did it get there?" Lilith asked, a little shocked that it still wasn't gone yet.
"I don't know! I was watching OITNB and my sheets flew, and Jackie freaked." Lola said, I was panicking at this point. What the hell are we going to do. Then an idea struck me. I pulled out my phone, clicking on the newest contact. I pulled the phone up to my ear, resting my other hand with my gun on my forehead.
"What are you doing now?" Lilith hissed at me. "We can't tell anyone about this." The phone rang twice before someone picked up.
"What the fuck do you want." They answered, I presumed it was someone on the removal team.
"How do you hide a body?" ---------- The guy on the other end of the line, who I later learned went by the name Schlatt, walked me through exactly how to hide it. Once it was successfully buried in the backyard, at least six feet under. He huffed out a half-assed goodbye and hung up. I threw the shovel back into the shed. It was Lilith's shovel, a 'tactical shovel' as she called it. She used it for weeks after she got it, for more than one thing.
"It works for everything!" She'd said, but when she moved in here she shoved it in the shed and didn't let us touch it. Now it was just used to bury a head. They're going to ask questions. My mind provided. They're going to ask questions you can't give the answers to. I sighed, walking back towards the house. I opened the back door to Lilith and Lola, sitting and waiting patiently on the couch. Lola opened her mouth, but I put up my hand, cutting her off.
"It's taken care of." I said, starting to walk out of the room.
"We just want to know who that was." Lola said, and I turned. I refrained from wincing at her question, trying not to give much away.
"A friend." I said, shrugging.
"A friend who knows how to hide a body." Lilith said, standing from her spot on the couch.
"He's useful." I said, shrugging once again. I knew they didn't buy it. Of course they didn't.
"Also I heard you got a new job." Lilith pressed, "And new guns that aren't in your budget last I checked." I swallowed, how did she find out about the new job? "I was going to reprimand you about leaving the milk out and I heard you talking." She said, probably reading the confusion on my face. I sighed, dropping my head, then lifting it back up.
"So, I got a new job offer." I said, weighing the pros and cons in my head if they knew. In the end, I decided that the pros outweighed the cons. Lilith raised her eyebrow, waiting for me to continue. "And, uh, they pay a lot." How the hell am I supposed to say this? It's not like I can just outright say that I work for a hitman company and not get backlash for it. I sighed, watching as Lola leaned back in the couch.
"He's a hitman." She whispered. Lilith looked at her wide-eyed. Lola was a bit out of it, we both could tell, she did just have a severed head in her bed. Her eyes focused on us, then she started laughing a bit. I stared back at her shocked.
"You work for a hitman company?" Lilith asked me, without looking away from Lola.
"That's one way to put it." I muttered, as I watched Lilith grab Lola's arm and haul her up off the couch.
"Can you help me?" She asked, throwing one of Lola's arm around her shoulders. Lola laughed, she was probably in hysterics or something.
"Cause my ass is too fat for you bitches." She laughed harder at her own joke. I rolled my eyes and threw her other arm over my shoulder. ---------- "Time limit? You never said anything about a time limit!"
"Customers want their shit done. Sorry, forgot to tell ya about it. I just thought I'd tell ya because I still haven't heard anything from you and you're time's running short." Wilbur replied, and I sighed, pulling my hair through the rubber band.
"It'll be done by tonight." I said. It's been two days since the head accident, and three since I'd gotten the file. Nothing exciting has been happening here, so I'd tracked down the guy after I saw him walk into the club yesterday. Now it was Tuesday, and apparently I only had today and tomorrow to get this guy out of the way of my money. I huffed, at least I didn't have to lie anymore. I'd come clean after Lola had woken up fine the next morning. It would've been harder to explain how I got a truckload of money anyway when I eventually did pay Lola back. I loaded the silencer and put it in my belt, sighing.
"It'd better be." Was the last thing he said before the communicator went silent again. I picked up the sniper, swinging it over my shoulder. I walked out of my room, catching Lilith's eye.
"Going somewhere?" She asked, folding her arms.
"Uh, yes." I said, tilting my head in question.
"You still have to take me to our job." She said, laughing a bit.
I groaned, "Can't you take your own goddamn car?" I asked as she swung herself down the stairs.
"Nope!" She yelled back up. I sighed, rolling my eyes and smiling a little. I ran down the stairs, almost falling as I entered the kitchen.
"Lola, tell Lilith to take her own car to work." I said, and Lola rolled her eyes from where she was making a sandwich.
"Aw come on don't be like that! You love driving me to work." Lilith said, throwing the fridge door open.
"Lilith drive your own car." Lola said laughing. Lilith stuck her lip out in a pout and I laughed.
"Go get in the goddamn car already." I said as I watched her take a cold water out of the fridge. "We'll be late."
"Says you!" She yelled back from the hallway. I could hear her take my keys off the rack and the front door open and shut.
"You'll be okay here?" I asked Lola, and she nodded wordlessly. I picked up Jackie and put her on the counter.
"Oh my God don't do that she's not supposed to be up there!" She yelled taking her off and I laughed.
"I'll drop Lilith back here later after our shift. I'll be back later." I said, walking out into the hall.
"Be safe." She said. I heard a faint scream and a creak from upstairs.
"You too."

2:48 AM, the night of the head incident
I felt like I was drunk. Except this drunk wasn't fun, this hurt. I was very dizzy, going in and out of consciousness. I could hear Lilith and Jordan, and I felt their arms hauling me upstairs. My vision was blurry, and I could barely see what was in front of me. I heard a familiar voice ringing through my ears as they laid me down on my bed, and then shut the door. A few moments after the door was shut, the voice started to laugh, and my body spazzed up. I groaned in pain as my limbs started to move without me moving them, and Donna whimpered and hid by the door. As soon as my body started doing that, it stopped, and I slid to the floor, my consciousness coming back.
"What the fuck..." I murmured, rubbing my eyes and looking around. Everything looked normal, but my wrist hurt a little bit. I looked down at it, and it was a bit red.
"Um.." I groaned, rubbing it and hopping into bed. I should learn to accept these crazy things that happen to me.
------
3:26 AM, same night
"I missed you..." she said, rubbing my hand.
"Who...?" I started, looking up. It was Sarah. She still had her long, curly locks of milk chocolate brown hair, her tan skin, and her dark eyes.
"Sarah.." I said, and she laughed and pushed me into the grass. It looked like we were in a grassy meadow. There were butterflies, flowers, and the sun. It was peaceful.
"Yeah, i'm back...I missed you..." she murmured, kissing me. I missed her too. A few moments passed, and everything changed. The sky was dark, and we were in a very gloomy and scary chamber. There were torches on the walls, spiderwebs everywhere, and creaking sounds echoing through the hall.
"Sarah, what-" I started, but she whipped around and put a finger over her lips, a smile coming from the corners of her mouth.
"Don't question. You'll see soon enough. I'm doing this for your safety. And for us!" she responded, kissing me on the cheek.
-
I shot up and gasped, holding my cheek. Jackie, who was laying on the pillow next to me, jumped off the bed in shock.
"I...what the...fuck..." I stammered, looking around. I was in my bedroom. Sarah wasn't there. No meadow, no weird chamber.
"I..." I stammered again, breathing rapidly. This is so weird. I haven't seen Sarah since high school graduation day. Why did she appear in my dream? Where was that dark chamber, why was this happening? I fell back on my pillow and just stared at the ceiling until everyone else woke up.
-----
A few days passed. I haven't seen Sarah in my dreams since, and everything has been normal. It was the afternoon, and Lilith and Jordan left for work. Since they were gone, I was going to decorate the house for Halloween.
"Finally!" I squealed as I pulled all the decoration bins from the shelves in the garage. I carried as much as I could to the outside, starting with that first.
"What do I pull out first?" I asked Donna, who was laying on the front porch. She walked over, sniffed the bin, and put her paw on the box of a blow up black cat.
"I was going for that too." I responded, petting her head. She went back to her spot, and watched me pull the box out and plug in the cat. It blew up, and gave me extreme Halloween vibes. I squealed in happiness, and went back to the box.
"And....done!" I exclaimed, after all the outdoor decorations were up. There was just one bag of cobwebs left, so I grabbed it and walked over to the one bare hedge that had no decorations on it. I opened the bad and started to put the cobwebs on the hedge, and then my wrist started to hurt like a bitch.
"Ow, ugh!" I groaned, and I looked down at my wrist. It was all big, red, and swollen. I waited a few moments, and then it got worse. It ached really badly, and I could see my veins moving up and down. My blood was turning deep red, like pasta sauce red.
"OW!" I screamed, and then as soon as it started, it completely stopped. Donna turned her head in confusion. I panted and stared at my wrist. It looked normal now.
"What the actual FUCK?!" I screamed, still holding my wrist.
------
4:51 AM, the morning after the second wrist incident
"We'll never see each other again..." I groaned, holding her tan hands. She made a pouty face, and rested her forehead on mine. We sat like that for a few moments. The two years with her will just be gone.
"Don't worry, I will find a way...the stars will align so that we can be together again..." she whispered, rubbing her thumb on my hand.
"GIRLS! STAGE! NOW! THIS GRADUATION CEREMONY WON'T WAIT!" a teacher burst into the room yelling. We quickly broke apart, our hearts stopping for a second. The teacher ran back out. I started to cry, and she put her hand on my cheek.
"Baby, this isn't over. WE aren't over. Don't worry." she assured me, and then pulled me up. We hugged quickly, and then walked towards the stage. That memory faded, and another one started.
"Watch where you're going, idiot." a girl snarled, laughing. I looked back. It was the most beautiful girl i've ever seen. Long, light brown curly hair, tan skin, chocolate dark eyes...
I couldn't respond. I just looked at her. She stared back. I was a wimpy short kid walking through the halls of high school, holding a stack of books with Target jeans on. A few moments passed, and she winked, and took a sharp left turn. I looked around, and my gut told me to follow her. I quickly swiveled around and fast walked, and saw that she entered the restroom. I huffed. What was I doing? I entered the restroom too, and she stood there, her hands on her hips. She cackled and knocked the books out of my hand. I stood there in shock for a second. Why did I follow her just to get bullied?
"Haha..." she laughed as I tried to bend down to grab the books. Before I could try to bend down, she walked closer and closer to me, until our lips locked. I froze. Why was she doing this? When we broke apart, we stood there for another second, and then fiercely clashed again. Our lips still locked, she pulled me into a stall, and quickly shut the door.
-memory ends-
My eyes fluttered open, my heart feeling full. I blinked for a few moments, and I looked around my room. Jackie was laying on the pillow next to me, and Donna was laying at the foot of my bed. I huffed. For some reason, I felt empty and lonely. A few quiet moments passed, and I started to feel pain in my canine teeth. I sat up and felt my teeth as the pain got greater.
"Ow...OW!!" I screamed, and the pain felt like someone was stabbing a knife on the gums of my canine teeth. I started to scream and hold my mouth, and Lilith and Jordan burst in.
"What? What now?!" Lilith asked, half angry half concerned.
"MY GUMS...OW!!" I screamed, and started to cry. They looked at each other, and pulled me out of my room, downstairs, and to Lilith's car. Lilith quickly sped out of the driveway as Jordan sat with me in the backseat. She tried to pull my hands away to see my mouth, but I wouldn't let her, even if I wanted to. My hands were forcefully hiding it. I wasn't controlling them, they were just staying there on their own.
"We have an emergency!" Lilith yelled at the ER front desk, and three nurses came out of the break lounge. Jordan walked me into the ER, and the nurses tried to take me from her. I groaned, and ended up growling at them. They all stood back in shock, and they just pointed Jordan towards a room. She walked me to it, and laid me on the bed. I started to cry as the pain got worse.
"What do we have here?" the doctor asked, walking into the room and looking at my face. I cried in agony as he tried to examine my face, but couldn't because of my hands. He grabbed them, and actually managed to pull them away. As soon as he let them go, though, they shot right back up to my face.
"Shelia, I need restraints." he said to the nurse on his right, and she quickly ran to a closet, grabbed restraints, and hooked them up to the bed. The doctor used all his might to strap me to the bed. When he was successful, he chuckled, and put on gloves.
"Let's see what we're working with..." he said, and opened my mouth. When he did, everyone in the room gasped. I looked around in fear and confusion.
"I...what the..." he stammered, stepping back. I started to cry, for the pain was growing. He stood there in shock for a second, and he then shook his head and came back to reality.
"I have never seen this before...maybe we need anesthesia?" he said to the nurses, and they nodded, rushing out of the room. When they came back, they had a needle filled with a clear liquid. I hate needles. I squirmed around as the nurse with the needle got closer. She inched down and was about to put it in my skin when...
"STOP!" a voice shouted. Everyone looked up, and the nurse with the needle moved it away from my arm. There stood Sarah, my beautiful Sarah, in the doorway.
"That would poison her, and it would wreck her transformation." she growled, and then hissed. Her canine teeth were long and pointy. And, when she hissed, her eyes turned hazel with small pupils. Everyone in the room screamed and ran to the back wall, where I was. When she was done hissing, her eyes went back to normal, and she held out her left hand.
"My girl, how I missed your beautiful face...C'mon, baby, the coven is ready to meet you." she said softly to me. A newfound strength came over me, and I broke the restraints from my wrist like a kid snapping a glow stick. I walked over to her, and she held my hand. She pulled me into a kiss. It was familiar. It reminded me of being in the back alley behind the local 7/11, and making out with her until the stars came out. It reminded me of skipping class and having fun in the bathroom stalls. It reminded me of my teen years with my true love.
"Welcome to your new life, honey." she said, putting her hand on my cheek.
"W-" I started, and she laughed and swiveled me to the mirror that was on the wall to my right.
"Smile." she instructed, and I did. My canine teeth were long and pointy like hers, and my eyes went yellow with small pupils.
"AH!" I screamed, and I fell back on her. She hugged my chest and chuckled, her face burying into my neck.
"I told you it wasn't over..." she whispered, kissing my neck.
"Who the FUCK are you?! What are you doing with her?!" Jordan screeched, and Sarah hissed at her.
"We have to go, sweetheart. Your new family is dying to meet you." she told me, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the room. I could barely see Lilith and Jordan as I left, and then was teleported with Sarah into the hallway of the dark chamber.
"Welcome home." she said warmly to me, and she pulled me into another kiss.

“What the fuck.” I let out through a breath. My brain was going a million miles an hour but at the same time it refused to comprehend anything that just happened.
“What the fuck” Jordan muttered after me with about a ten second delay. It was said in an agreeing yet slightly distressed tone.
I took a step closer to her as I shifted around to take a look at the two nurses and doctor. All three shared a series of glances with unreadable expressions before some sort of beeping noise was heard from the hallway.
“I should probably get that” one of the nurses said. The other nurse and doctor followed her out, muttering a few incomprehensible statements. They most likely didn't want to think about what was happening, and honestly I didn't blame them. I shifted my gaze back over to Jordan who stood with a blank face toward the door where 'Sarah' had entered.
I really didn't know much about Sarah. I had heard form Lola that they had dated during high school but ended up parting ways. I was never sure if that meant that they had broken up or if they just 'took a break', but regardless I knew that they hadn't seen one another in a while; let alone that she was something other than a normal fucking human. If Lola were still here I would have turned and drilled her with questions... however she didn't seem to get the news flash until until just now either. I let out a deep sigh which didn't go unnoticed by Jordan, but she chose to keep quiet for a while. The room filled with low humming from the medical machinery next to the bed that Lola occupied not too long ago. After what felt like hours, which in reality was most likely no more than a minute, Jordan spoke up.
“So... t...w.. now?” Was all I heard. Though I could guess what she had said, I looked at her with a questioning look anyways. Reading the mock confusion on my face, she repeated herself. “So what should we do now?”
“Like hell I'd know” I attempted to say in a semi joking matter, however the unsteadiness in my voice proved it otherwise.
“Like... will she be back? Does this mean we go look for her? Do we sit and wait?” She continued to stutter out strings of uncertainties before I cut her off.
“Uhm. Lets go to the car and think about it maybe?” I suggested
With a slow nod, she exited the room as I trailed behind her. The noises of rushing nurses, machinery beeping and phone calls was barely heard of the deafening silence. Jordan walked down the hall before turning to me, expression still unreadable.
“Where even are we?”
“The hos-”
“What floor. Where is the elevator at?” She interrupted.
Oh.
After some confusion and advice from a few different people who looked like they worked at the hospital, we made it out to the parking lot. We approached my car that was parked in front of the entrance, not in an actual parking spot due to the rush of things. I tugged at the handle and jolted a bit when it didn't open. I quickly fished the keys out of my pocket before blindly pressing the unlock button and jumping in. When did I even lock it? I thought. I didn't start the car but instead turned to look at Jordan once more. She finally wore a recognizable expression.
Confusion mixed with worry.
We stared at one another for a few seconds before I opened my mouth to speak but was cut off by a knock at my driver's window. I turned to see a nurse or doctor of some sort staring in through the window. I rolled it down slightly to allow them to speak.
“Ma'am, you cannot sit here and block the entrance. Can you please move your car?” She said with an annoyed tone. I nodded and pulled out of the parking lot, headed to the general direction of home.

I stood in the hospital, my face expressionless. I vaguely heard myself asking Lilith what we were supposed to do now. I was shocked, upset, pissed, and confused all at once. Not a good feeling let me tell you. I kept my face emotionless, following Lilith down the hall and out. "It'd better be" bouncing around the back of my mind. I was still in debt to Lola, whether she was a human or not. My head swam with vague emotions and memories, trying to make sense of how I possibly missed my best friend being a vampire. I pulled on the passenger side door, not expecting it to be locked. My hand flew forward again with the door handle after it pulled out and the door didn't open. I huffed, pulling my hand back and waiting for Lilith to let me in. I climbed into the car after she'd unlocked it, and a nurse tapped on her window. I didn't care for what she had to say and once she'd left and we started moving, I finally let some emotion show. I was confused and worried, confused for what the hell just happened, and worried because Lola looked like she didn't know what was happening either. I kept asking myself how, how I could've possibly missed my friend being a vampire. I eventually let my brain come to the conclusion that I didn't miss it, that it just happened. That was the only logical conclusion I came up with. My brain was still working in overdrive. How am I possibly going to balance all of this now? It was hard enough with the screams and the head and having a 9-5 job while also working as a hitman and trying to not get caught by the police. They could easily throw me off the team if I fucked up more than once. I stared out the window, looking at passerbys. My eyes scanned the pedestrians, sighing. The guy that I was supposed to get rid of shouldn't be out at this time, and if he was, it isn't really ideal to kill in broad daylight. Lilith slammed on the breaks without warning, throwing me forward.
"Do you see that?" She asked, pointing her hand out the window. There were two men, two men that I recognized, standing in the middle of a crowded sidewalk. Two other men that I'd never seen before but looked important standing on the other side. They looked like they were in a circle, and I could vaguely hear the people around them yelling fight. I groaned, putting my head in my hand.
"Guess which idiots got themselves into a fight in broad daylight Wilbur." Was the next thing I heard through my communicator.
"Are you near them Techno?"
"No. I'd never associate myself with them. I'm watching it live on television."
"Is anyone near them?"
I sighed, "I, unfortunately, am. I was just thinking about leaving them alone to deal with their problems." I heard loud laughter from the other line. "I like the sound of that!"
"Shut up Techno you aren't helping." Wilbur said, huffing. "Do you just want me to shoot these guys through my car window?"
"Too many people. Just step in when you need to."
"I can't stop. Have someone else get over here." I said, motioning to Lilith to keep driving. Her eyebrow was raised and she didn't move. I looked out to my right, the two guys stepped forward from the crowd a bit, one of them was probably George and Nick's target. I hummed looking at the both of them, and my eyes widened as I realized that one of the guys was my target. "Actually scratch that, I'm shooting them." There were collective shouts of protest as I pulled out the silencer in my belt.
"There are too many people, you're going to get caught, and I'm not going to bail you out."
"Or you'll get George and Nick caught. It's too risky don't do it."
"It's only risky when you don't know what you're doing." I said, motioning Lilith to start driving. This time she started going, but slowly. I motioned her to pick up the pace.
"You're going to hit someone!" She hissed, and I smiled.
"Want me to get yours too George? Assuming the other guy is your target." George nodded once, it was quick and barely visible, and would've been impossible to catch if you aren't paying attention. I smiled, "I'll take that as a yes." There was another round of shouts that voiced many different forms of disagreement. George and Nick turned toward the crowd, held up their hands and shook their heads. They said a few words that got the crowd to disperse a bit. They were smarter than I gave them credit for, they're showing they're innocent and had no idea what was about to happen. I lined up my gun and fired two quick shots out the window. The two men fell to the floor, and I watched as George and Nick quickly turned around, shock on their faces. They quickly started yelling to call 911, an ambulance anything. I motioned Lilith to go, go quickly. She sped forward, but at a reasonable speed, not wanting to look guilty. To everyone else we probably just looked like we were passing by, unless someone had seen us stop a few feet back. Although people were in a frenzy and Lilith had a hard time not hitting anyone with her car. I could tell she was scared, everything was happening so fast, I could tell it was hard for her to wrap her head around. There was dead silence on my communicator. Everyone had fallen silent after the men had fallen, lifeless to the ground.
"I'm impressed." Dave was the first to break the silence. We were almost home now, the front of the mansion barely visible.
"Right between the eyes." George commented with a hushed voice, probably still near people.
------------- Lilith shook her head, coffee in her hand. "What the fuck was that." She hissed at me. I was sitting at the table, the gun resting on the tabletop.
I shrugged, "10,000 dollars." She sighed, leaning her head in her hands.
"I can't handle this shit right now, our friend is a vampire."
I slammed my hand down on the table, "You think I can handle it?!" The anger making it's appearance from earlier. "The next thing you're going to say is that you're a zombie!"
"I'm sure I'm not." She huffed, rolling her eyes. I narrowed my eyes, picking up the silencer and heading to the living room. "Next thing you're going to say is that you're a ghost." She muttered, obviously intending me to not hear it. I heard it anyway.
How did I not notice? The thought from earlier coming back to my mind, forgotten in the excitement. I shook my head, trying to forget what happened with Lola.
"Chaos your reward can be picked up next meeting. Same for you George and Nick." Wilbur's voice said. I hummed, turning the TV on, starting to drown out my thoughts.
Then Lilith screamed.

We walked down the hallway hand in hand. She was staring at me, a smile on the corners of her lips. I blushed at that.
"Are you excited?" she asked, squeezing my hand.
"I don't know...I have no idea what the fuck is going on.." I responded, looking at her and biting my lip.
"Well, haha, I will answer those questions later. This is just for you to meet the coven." she explained. I nodded, and we turned a corner. There were two huge Victorian doors with torches on the wall next to them. Something dropped in my stomach and I got really nervous.
"Just answer this real quick. Why did you change me without asking? I don't even know what being a vampire is all about, I could absolutely HATE it!" I squealed in nervousness. She looked down at her feet and then looked back up at me.
"The head. The ghosts. The voices you hear. I'm doing it so you can protect yourself and your friends. And...so that we can be together...literally forever." she told me, and my eyes widened at her.
"But, how-" I started, but she shook her head and opened the door. As she led me inside, the atmosphere changed. It was cold, and it gave me a chill up my spine. There were gargoyles on the walls, a stained glass painting on the ceiling, and stone underneath my feet. In front of me was a throne, and two royal chairs next to it. In the throne was a pale man with long, black hair. To his right was a man with shoulder length blonde hair. To his left was a man with short brown hair.
"Clement, William, Randolph, this is my girl, Lola." Sarah said proudly, presenting me to the men. The man in the throne was holding a scepter with an amber end. He stroked the amber part as he stared at me with a smile. The blonde man had no expression, and the brunette man looked almost angry.
"Welcome, young Lola. We have heard much about you. I am the lord of the vampires, Clement. I'm sure you have many questions." the man in the middle on the throne said. I gulped, I had no fucking idea what was happening.
"...yes..." I responded.
"Very well. Sarah will answer all of them for you. You have no need to return here unless you summon another vampire, or you break a code. Thank you." Clement said, and then whisked us away. Sarah grabbed my hand and pulled me back out. We turned the corner, and then we stopped in the hallway. She giggled and kissed me. I nervously kissed her back. She noticed I was feeling off, so she sat on the floor and pulled me with her.
"What do you need to know? I know you are very nervous." she asked, holding my hand and stroking the back of it with her thumb.
"Just...just start on how you are a vampire and the chain of events that led to this...!" I burst, and she stared at me wide eyed for a second, and then started to laugh.
"Alright...after the graduation party, when I dropped you off at home, something felt off. Like, we were still dating, but I had a feeling I wouldn't see you again for a really long time. The next day, we texted, but didn't see each other. Same with the next week, month, year...the messages had faded out by then. And i'm not sure about you, but that killed me inside. You were and are my true love. Freshman year, I was bullied so badly to the point where I would do things to myself. Sophomore year I got some bad friends and ended up right back in the bad spot. But junior year, you came along and changed my life. After we sort of "broke up", I went back to that bad place. It was around this time last year, I was drunk driving home from a bar. I was on the freeway and I spun out and hit the median. It was such a hard hit that I flew into my windshield, and glass punctured my head and my chest. Some guy driving on the freeway pulled over and tried to help. He was actually a vampire, and he knew that if he didn't transform me, that I would die. So he bit me, and I transformed." she explained, and my heart dropped. I didn't know I had that much of an impact on her.
"Sarah..." I cooed gently, and I put my hand on her cheek. She chuckled and nestled her face into my hand.
"The guy who transformed me brought me to Clement. Clement helped me through my transformation, taking all the pain away, and he helped me grow and become who I am now. Last month, he heard that evil spirits rose from a specific house in Newport Beach. Our coven is against evil. We use our powers and our supernatural-ness for good. He told me to go examine the house and see what the spirits were up to. I saw the man in the water. I saw the girl. I especially saw the head." she explained.
"I went to Clement and explained what happened to him. He took my hand and saw the future if you weren't transformed. The spirits would've killed you, your friends, and even your pets. He told me that this is happening and you moved into that house because the stars aligned because our souls are meant to be together. In most cases, you must ask permission before transforming someone, unless it's an absolute emergency. He granted me permisson and the first time I tried was that night you saw the ghosts at work. We have lightning fast speed, so I whipped into your room, bit your wrist, and ran right back out. Your body refused it and that's why you spazzed so bad. I tried again when you were decorating, and at first it didn't work, so I tried again, and then your wrist became enflamed and your fangs started to grow. Now, you're a vampire." she told me, smiling.
"So, you transformed me so that I can fight off the spirits?" I asked, and she nodded.
"Yup."
"Wow...so, what else does being a vampire entail?" I asked, and she smiled.
"Well, you live forever, have huge fangs that can literally slice someone in half, sexy ass eyes when you hiss, speed, and you drink blood. Which sounds gross, but oh my gosh it's the BEST thing ever." she squealed, laughing after the last sentence.
"I'll have to see about the last one, haha! Wow, ok...well, am I allowed to go back home? I mean, we don't have to live in this scary world, do we?" I asked, and she laughed.
"No, no you don't..." she responded, playing with my hair.
"What do you want to happen between us?" I asked, breaking the awkwardness that surrounded that question. Her eyes widened and she looked at me, and then she shook her head and chuckled.
"Lola, you know i'm all for resuming what we left off at." she said, and I nodded.
"I...I was thinking the same thing." I responded, and she smiled. She pulled me in a deep kiss that landed for a few moments, and when we broke apart, our foreheads connected and we both laughed.
"Let's go home." she said, and teleported us back to the house. -----
When we arrived, we were in the front yard. All of our cars were in the driveway, and everything looked normal.
"What do I even say?" I asked, and she squeezed my hand.
"What I told you. Don't worry, everything will work out. I'm living proof of that." she told me, and I chuckled and kissed her before I turned my key in the lock and walked in. Donna burst down the stairs and barked at me before licking my hand and panting all over me.
"DONN-" Lilith yelled as she turned the corner, before she stopped dead in her tracks and dropped the pan she was holding.
"L-L-L-Lola..?!" she exclaimed in fear.
"LOLA?!" Jordan yelled, thumping down the stairs.
"Hey guys." I said in a wimpy way. I looked down at my feet awkwardly. What do I do? Say? THINK?
"Um...welcome back?" Lilith said awkwardly, bending down to pick up her pan.
"Explain EVERYTHING!" Jordan yelled. I looked at Sarah, who nodded at me. I gulped and explained.
"Oh...so the spirits are real..." Lilith said, nodding and biting her lip.
"Yeah...so i'm a vampire to save us all.." I told them, and Jordan rolled her eyes.
"My company and I could've taken care of it." she remarked. On cue, I hissed, my fangs long and sharp and my eyes a piercing yellow. She jumped back and hit the wall. Sarah smiled at me in pride. My first time hissing at someone, even if it was my best friend.
"You don't get it. A hitman company won't kill supernatural spirits. Only someone or something supernatural can. I was transformed to SAVE us from these evil fucking spirits!" I spat, and they both nodded. I guess becoming a vampire came with an attitude, because around those two I am usually always bubbly and laughing.
"Ok, ok yes we understand. Welcome home." Lilith said, scrambling to the kitchen. Jordan stood there with her arms crossed.
"Is she staying with us?" she asked, motioning her head to Sarah. I looked at Sarah, who looked like she wanted to pounce at her.
"Yes." I responded flatly, and walked upstairs with Sarah.

Lola and Sarah exited the room silently, and following along at their heels was Donna. I turned to look up at Jordan who still had her arms crossed with a bit of a displeased look on her face. I looked around the kitchen a couple of times, trying to find something to talk about to reduce the tension. I sighed before looking back at the pan I had set down on the stove. I quickly shifted my gaze down to the floor where it had fallen. “Well, good thing it didn't dent the floor.” I laughed, trying to lighten the mood. Jordan stayed silent. “Its really a heavy pan, it could have-” “Stop talking about the fucking frying pan, its not helping” She sighed before turning to look at me and mumbling a “sorry.” She walked over to the refrigerator and turned so her back was pressed against the cold metal. “I told her to explain everything and she explained abso-fucking-lutely nothing.”
“Give her time? I mean, she didn't seem to overwhelmed but maybe being a vampire is tough?” I suggested. Jordan clearly doubted it but she nodded her head anyway. I looked back at the frying pan on the stove. “Uhm, so are you hungry?” “Not really.” “Alright. Why don't you go upstairs and get some rest or something. Shower? Clear your head a bit. You did also kill a couple guys, in case you forgot” I snorted. She nodded once more before shifting all her weight back onto her feet and walking out of the kitchen. ------- Time skip to two days ahead because I'm lazy ------- I threw the covers off the bed and made my way into the connected bathroom attached to my bedroom. Too lazy to wash my hair, I threw it up in a messy bun before stepping into the shower. I quickly rinsed off before throwing a hoodie and tights on and brushing my teeth. I hummed as I stared at myself in the mirror. Its not like anyone's gonna be here today anyway. I quietly made my way down the hallway, careful not to disturb anyone who might be sleeping. I passed Lola's room, assuming that Sarah was in there as well. We gave her her own room, but she preferred to stay with her girlfriend. After making it down the stairs I turned into the living room and headed straight for the kitchen. Still being a bit tired, my brain barely registered two figures sitting on the couch. “Good morning” I mumbled, not bothering to look at who they where. “Morning.” A husky voice answered; one that definitely wasn't female. I spun around to find two males sitting on the couch. The first, a tall brunette with a beanie and a yellow sweater sat with one leg propped up on the coffee table. The second, shorter than the other laid on the other end of the couch, clearly making himself at home. It was difficult to see from my angle, but I registered that he was blond. They both stared intently at their phones, not even bothering to give an explanation as to why or how they got in the house. “What the fuck?” I said. The brunette hummed questioningly in response. “What do you mean 'hmm'? What are you doing in my fucking house!” I whisper-yelled. They were human, at least they looked like it (you never know anymore), and they didn't seem threatening, but I was still alarmed by their presence. Worse comes to worse I would yell for Jordan and she could probably take care of them if need be. With that comment the blond moved to a sitting position As he did so a hand held gun slipped from his chest and landed into his lap which I hadn't seen due to where I was standing. I felt my eyes widen a bit as I reached for the unused pan that still stood on the stove from two days ago. I held it out in front of me, though it really wouldn't do much from long range, certainly not against a gun. “Oi what the hell?” The blond said. “What's your problem?” “Tommy, your gun.” The taller said, still looking at his phone. “Oh, my bad.” 'Tommy' picked up the weapon from his lap and leaned forward to set it on the coffee table before redirecting his attention back to me. “There, we wont hurt you.” I stared at the man in yellow before the shorter slapped him on the shoulder and motioned with his hand to the side of the couch. The brunette, finally removing his gaze from his phone, reached to the side of the couch and pulled out a larger gun and rested it near the smaller one. “We just need to talk to Jordan.” Suddenly everything seemed to become clearer. “A-are you the people she works with? The hitman company?” I stuttered. “She told you guys?” The taller said, more to himself as he threw his head back and pinched the bridge of his nose. “How did you even get in? Why would you come here... she mentioned that she already picked up the money yesterday.” I lowered the pan back onto the stove and took a few steps closer to the men. “What are your names?” “We aren't here to give her money or anything, just remind her how reckless she was the other day.” The brunette muttered before continuing. “I'm Wilbur, and that's Thomas.” he said, throwing his hand in the blond's direction. “I-um. Should I go wake her up?” “Yeah sure.” I exited the room, stealing a couple glances at the pair before skipping up the steps. Wilbur looks kinda good. I threw open the door to Jordan's room to find her sleeping soundly. I tapped her on the shoulder multiple times, which of course didn't wake her. I grabbed both shoulders and jolted a couple times before she blinked lazily. “Jordan, uh some people are here for you.”

I groaned as I felt someone poking me. “Uh Jordan, some people are here for you.” I heard Lilith say through my morning haze. “God fuck” I muttered, sitting up and wiping my eyes. “Who?” “They said that their names were Wilbur and Thomas.” She said, clearly focusing on something else. I huffed, throwing my hands up. “Fucking great.” I muttered. I threw my bed sheets off, not even bothering to change as I grabbed my silencer and my sniper. “Guess I’ll work in my pajamas today.” I swung open my door, Lilith following. I walked down the stairs, skipping the creaky one. “Is Lola awake?” “No, so be a bit quiet.” Lilith said, waving her hand in the direction of the living room and walking into the kitchen. I huffed, turning to the living room. Wilbur and Thomas were sitting on the couch, Wilbur looking pissed, and Thomas looking a bit sheepish. Their guns were on one side of the couch, probably not to freak Lilith out when they were first introduced. “We originally came here to talk to you about one thing.” Wilbur said after I’d opened my mouth to ask why they were here. “But now we’re going to talk about two things.” I closed my mouth, still standing in the living room in my pajamas and my sniper over my shoulder. Thomas looked at Wilbur, “What’s the second thing?” Wilbur just told him to shut up. “So, two days ago you made a very risky play-“ “How did you two get in?” “-and put a lot of people in danger.” Wilbur said pinching the bride of his nose. “After we repeatedly told you not to. You did it anyway.” “I got the job done didn’t I?” I asked, crossing my arms. “That’s not the point!” He yelled standing up. “We’re supposed to be undercover! You could’ve gotten us all called out and killed! Do you know the amount of money on our heads?!” I stood there, shocked. I tried to speak but all I was able to do was sputter. “If George and Nick hadn’t reacted the way they did and you hadn’t shot straight and you hadn’t drove away quick enough, we’d all be dead rotting away six feet under!” Thomas was still sitting on the couch, his mouth hanging open, staring up at Wilbur. Apparently this was the first time he’s seen him like this, or this is his first time hearing about the death risk. He was fuming at me, but I could see the worry behind his eyes. “I’ll never do that again.” I whispered, trying not to anger him further. He sighed and sank back down into the couch. “It was impressive though.” Thomas said from his position on the couch. I smiled a little at him. “Thanks.” I said, slinging the sniper off my shoulder and propping it against the wall. “Now that that’s over...what was the second thing?” Wilbur sat up again, “Right.” He said glancing over towards the kitchen. “Your friend over there greeted us this morning.” He tilted his head towards the kitchen. “And seemed to recognize what we were doing here after we said we needed to talk with you.” I hummed, glancing toward the kitchen where Lilith was making breakfast. “You try having three roommates and walking out with a gun over your shoulder everyday.” I said back, rolling my eyes. “You can do that easily.” Wilbur said, narrowing his eyes. “Schlatt gave me a call the other day too.” He pressed, obviously trying to get me to rat myself out. I shifted my weight from one foot to the other.
"Yeah, I had some things to take care of." I said flatly, looking over at Thomas, who just looked straight up confused.
Wilbur just sighed, "You know our rules that concern other people knowing about this."
"They won't tell anyone." I said quickly, glancing at the kitchen.
"They'd better not. And about the body that's buried around here somewhere-"
"Uh, Wilbur." Thomas said, standing up slowly and reaching for a gun. "The rest of the roommates are all girls right?" He asked, his voice cracking a bit at the end. My blood ran cold at that sentence. Wilbur's eyes widened as he grabbed his gun and aimed it at the stairs behind me. I turned, throwing myself in their line of fire.
"What the hell are you doing Jordan! Get out of the fucking way!" Wilbur hissed behind me. "Who the fuck is that?"
"Don't fire. It won't do shit." I hissed back. "You need to get the fuck out of here now." I glanced behind me, Wilbur looked ready to protest, but Thomas just grabbed his arm and ran towards the door.
"We'll see you tomorrow!" He threw over his shoulder before dragging Wilbur out the door.
"Lilith!" I yelled towards the kitchen and she came running out. There was a man standing on the staircase. He looked like the other guy who I'd shot at.
"Isn't Lola supposed to do something about this?" She whispered to me from her spot in the doorway. The man was maintaining eye contact with me and I held mu gun up.
"She's sleeping!"
"Then wake her up!" I huffed, looking up towards the ceiling for a second then back at the man.
"LOLA WAKE YOUR FUCKING ASS UP!! WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!"

"LOLA, GET YOUR FUCKING ASS UP, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!" Jordan screeched at me. I was definetley not asleep.
"They..n-need you.." Sarah whispered, but I shut her up by making out with her more.
"Too bad.." I responded, and she rolled her eyes.
"LOLLLAAAAA!!!!!" Jordan screamed in terror. I shot up, and so did Sarah. We locked eyes for second, and then peeled down the stairs. When we reached the bottom, we saw Jordan being held down on the floor by a transparent man. He was choking her, and his face was livid. I looked at Lilith, who was hiding being a pillar, her expression terrified.
"L-L" Jordan choked, her eyes rolling into the back of her head and her face going purple. I instantly hissed at the man and sped over to him, and knocked him off her. Lilith ran and grabbed Jordan, and helped her gain air back into her lungs.
"You, you SHOULDN'T have done that!" the man yelled at me. I hissed back, and he ran at me. I instantly put my hands out, and he ran right into them. I gripped his shirt and hissed right in his face. He was not expecting that, for he gasped in surprise.
"WHY are you ghosts terrorizing us?!" I asked angrily, in my demented vampire voice.
"THAT MOTHERFUCKER SHOT ME! I NEED TO GET HER BACK!" he yelled, struggling to get out of my grip. I didn't even question. I snapped forward and bit him, but not with vampire changing venom. Just a very painful bite. He screamed and wriggled around, so I dug my teeth deeper and deeper into his neck. When I felt he had enough, I dropped him, and watched as he grabbed his neck and started to cry.
"Go. Go and DON'T come back." I growled at him, and he nodded, and vanished. I dusted my hands off and looked at my friends. Jordan was on the floor holding her throat, but her eyes were wide with fear. Lilith looked at me in shock, and Sarah had her arms folded and she was nodding in pride.
"How...how did a fucking ghost feel that..." Lilith asked, and I honestly had no clue.
"If a supernatural person attacks another supernatural person, they can feel things. If a supernatural person attacks a human, only the human can feel things. It's weird." Sarah explained, walking over to me.
"I-I- I g-g-g-guess i'm not a-a-against this v-v-v-ampire thing-g-g-g...." Jordan panted, laying her head on the floor.
----
We all decided to cool down and go to the beach that afternoon. Other than being in bed or on a horses back, the beach was my favorite place to be. I was always called a fish growing up. The first thing I would do when I got to the beach would be to kick off my sandals and jump into the water. Nothing's changed.
"Lola! Come back we got KFC!" Sarah yelled from the shoreline. I was about 35-40 feet out, just swimming in the deep sea and enjoying the waves crashing over my head.
"No!" I called back, dipping underwater. It was beautiful. Being a vampire meant I had great vision, so I was able to look under the water with no problem. There was a school of orange and yellow fish swimming in between the sea grass. I put my hand down and actually touched one. I smiled, and reached further. I touched another one, and I giggled. My lungs started to hurt, so I swam back up to the surface and took a huge breath.
"YOU FUCKING IDIOT, YOU'RE SCARING US! COME BACK AND EAT CHICKEN BITCH!" Jordan yelled. I could tell her mouth was full of chicken. I started to swim back, and when I reached the shore, I saw Lilith shaking her head and Jordan flipping me off.
"Babe, you freaked me the fuck out. The chicken is getting cold, let's go." Sarah said, covering me with a towel and shaking her head. I sat down with them to eat, and despite all the tension, we had a good dinner. I said something that made Jordan choke on chicken which made us all laugh, and that kind of broke the ice. After dinner was done, Jordan's phone started to ring.
"Hello?" she answered. A few moments passed, and her face went serious.
"What the fuck?!" she screamed, standing up fast. We all followed, concerned.
"Ok, ok yeah...ok sure...bye." she said, ending the call and shoving her phone in her jean shorts pocket.
"My company is being attacked by the ghosts of the people we have killed." she explained, and all of our hearts dropped.

“My company is being attacked by the ghosts of the people we have killed.” Jordan said, quickly gathering the minimal items that we had brought with us. I folded up the towel I had been sitting on while she continued. “He said that there were three of them. They were part of the same hit a couple months back.” We scurried to pile into Jordan's truck. I shuffled into the passenger seat while Lola and Sarah sat next to one another in the back.
“Did they say what they were doing?” Sarah said, concern lacing her voice but still relatively calm. “Attacking obviously, but how exactly?
“No, they didn't say anything else except for 'get your ass over here and bring the girl you shouted for earlier with you'” She said, shaking her head.
“So we are supposed to deal with it?” Lola said, deadpanning as she looked into the overhead mirror at Jordan's distracted face. “What if these three are more violent? I mean the one back at the house was nothing, but these ones could be, I don't know. Angrier?” Sarah nodded her head before answering.
“Some ghosts can be more violent while others aren't. Just like humans, some are stronger, taller, weaker, etc. The one we dealt with home wasn't terribly strong. Lola got rid of the man with ease, even though she hasn't been turned very long. I didn't even have to help her! I'm sure we can take care of these three.” Sarah said, looking at Lola to encourage her a bit more. I nodded and Jordan copied.
“So what should we do?” I asked
“Before we try to do anything, remember that this is a fucking hitman company. It is at the top floor of a normal work building. As far as anyone else knows, they are a normal company. You have to act normal as we enter, understand?” Jordan said, taking her eyes off of the road to make eye contact with each of us before redirecting her attention back to driving.
“Makes sense,” Sarah said. “The easiest thing would be for you two,” she mentioned, gesturing to Jordan and I, “to go get everyone who isn't being attacked away from the others, that was Lola and I can work without a distraction. It might be a bit difficult sense their first instinct is gonna be to fight back, even though they can't do anything.”
Everyone nodded in agreement. The whole 20 minute driver over to the building was either filled with silence, or running over the quickly made plan once again. After what seemed like ages, Jordan pulled up in front a normal looking work building and parked before turning back to look at us.
“Remember, act normal.”

“Remember, act normal.” I said as I looked at each one of them. They nodded and I swung myself out of the car door. My sniper was swung over my shoulder, and my silencer was hidden under my shirt.
“You told us to act normal?” Lilith said, bumping my shoulder with the sniper on it.
“People walk in here with guns all the time.” I said, shrugging. I hadn’t really thought about it before. Maybe it looked weird that they didn’t have a gun. We got to the door, and I muttered, “normal” under my breath. I shoved the door open, and the chatter and footsteps of the people hit my ears. I walked forward into the building, barely giving everyone else time to react. Walking to the elevator, I pushed the button, assuming everyone was following me. The door opened after an agonizing long few seconds, and there was Thomas, clothes disheveled and eyes full of fear.
“I was wondering when you’d get here.” He hissed, motioning us inside. “Wilbur, Dave, and Clay are trying to hold them off. I don’t know where everyone else went. I was ordered to wait in the elevator for you guys.” He said in a rush of words. He’d pressed the button for the top floor. Our elevator was now going towards the ghosts. “I tried to tell Wilbur and them to get out of there.” He said, running a hand through his hair. “But you know how he never backs down from danger.” I nodded, looking to Lola.
“Please try not to hurt them in the process.” I said, sparing a glance at Lilith. Lola nodded and grabbed Sarah’s hand. The elevator stopped and we all stepped out. There were a few things crashing and shouts of pain. Lola and Sarah went towards the noises, assuming that’s where the ghosts were. Lilith tried to follow, but I grabbed her arm. She looked back at me, confused. I turned to Thomas, “They’re all out of there except for them three right.” I asked, and he nodded. “We need to find the others then, they might be in trouble and we won’t know it.” I said, knowing that we had to leave Lola and Sarah to fight the ghosts.
“We can’t just leave them!” Lilith said exasperatedly.
“We can’t get in there either! We can’t touch them remember? We’ll be utterly useless if we go in there. We’ll only be another liability.” I said, putting a hand on her shoulder. “They’ll be fine.” Thomas nodded from right next to me.
“That’s why we had no effect on them.” He muttered, then turned and walked the other way, “Right! Now, finding the others.” He said, and I grabbed Lilith’s arm and dragged her with me, following Thomas down the hall. “George never strays far from Clay.”

Everything went fine. Nothing has happened for a few weeks, and everything has been peaceful. It was currently 1:39 AM, and we were all asleep. I was having a weird dream...I was in the hallway of the house, holding a bucket of candy. It was probably Halloween. I walked over to the door and turned the knob, and there was a group of adorable children echoing trick or treat. I smiled and put candy in their bags, and I watched them run to the sidewalk and to the next house. I closed the door, and before I could take a step, it rung again. I sighed and opened the door again, and I screamed at what I saw. It was an evil witch with angry red hair, warts, and a mean smile, a zombie with lips stitched shut and worn aqua skin, and a wolf that was probably taller than me. They weren't fun Disney characters, either. They were terrifying.
"Hello there, Lola. You haven't seen us before, but you WILL see us again. Safe travels to-" the witch started, and the wolf growled at her.
"Oh fine! Whatever, see you on Halloween. Hahaha..." she cackled, and they vanished.
(dream over)
I shot up and gasped. What the fuck?
"Are you ok?" Sarah asked, and I shook my head.
"These..monsters just talked to me in my dream and told me they would see us on Halloween." I explained, and she looked confused.
"It was just a dream, go to bed..." she groaned, pulling me back down and spooning me. I tried to sleep, but I wouldn't let myself.
----- The next morning, I still felt spooked. I was cooking omelets with chorizo for everyone, and while I was cooking, I was zoning out. I didn't even notice Lilith doing the same thing.
"Hey, you two, what's going on?" Jordan asked, waving her hands to "wake us up." I snapped out of it and stirred the chorizo in the pan faster.
"Sorry, I don't know...I have been feeling sick lately and I had this spooky dream last night." Lilith explained, putting her hand on her forehead and looking down. I stopped stirring and stared at her.
"Um, we better take you to the doctor then...Jordan you finish the huevos con chorizo." I said briskly, grabbing my things and dragging Lilith to my car. I saw Sarah and Jordan exchange a confused look, but I ignored it.
------ "What happened in your dream?" I asked her as I drove.
"Um...there was a big wolf. He came up to me and chased me around the house, and then bit me really hard on the neck. Hard enough I could feel it on my neck when I woke up. Now I have a really bad headache." she explained to me, looking pale. Uh oh.
"Lilith, since the unimagined has already happened with the vampire thing, you don't think maybe...?" I asked, and she looked at me with wide eyes.
"Oh no..." she whispered, and she buried her face into her hands.

“No no no no no.” I whispered, still holding my face in my hands. “No, please no.” After a moment of silence and heavy breathing, I looked up from my hands and found Lola sympathetically glancing at me before turning her eyes back to the road.
“Listen it will be fine, alright? I'll take you to the hospital like where I was, that way they can keep an eye on you. If I went through it, you can too, so-” I cut her off when I frantically.
“But you had Sarah to help you! It could be different for a fucking wolf or whatever I was bitten by! I don't have anybody who's gone through this exact scenario!” I threading my fingers through my own hair. It was more painful than comforting but it gave me something to do.
“Just try to calm down?” She said, stealing another glance from the corner of her eye.
“Yeah, yeah.” I said, voice shaking ever so slightly. After a few moments of silence, I turned from staring out the window to look at her. “Does this mean Jordan is next.” I didn't mean for it to sound like a statement but it most likely wasn't a question that needed to be asked.
“Probably,” Lola mumbled. I took in a deep breath before redirecting my attention back to the passenger window. Part of me nervous by the response, the other relieved that she was being honest. Soon enough the hospital came into view. As soon as we parked I became aware of the splitting headache once more. I had almost forgotten it in my mini-breakdown session ten minutes prior.
We slowly entered the hospital, and I let Lola go in first. She went to the reception desk and explained the situation. Instead of standing next to her, I plopped down on one of the seats in the busy waiting area. I shifted my gaze to my friend and nurse at the reception desk. They seemed to be arguing, which made sense. I would assume that it isn't easy to get a room simply because “my friend has a headache”. Even if she said that I might be turning into some other creature the receptionist would have never believed her. About half minute later Lola made a very quick movement and the nurse almost fell out of her chair before quickly standing up to reach for the phone. They exchanged a few words before Lola, seemingly satisfied with herself, turned around to find me. Even through the awful headache I managed to crack a smile when I saw Lola's unnaturally colored eyes slowly shift back to normal. Poor nurse probably got scared half way to a heart attack.
“Did you bully her?” I snorted before wincing and reaching my hand up to my head.
“Maybe,” she smiled, “but hey, it works.”
-----
“I'm so contused,” Lola muttered, letting her head drop and her shoulders sag.
“Okay so you mean to tell me you think Lilith is gonna turn in to a wolf or something, but its been hours and she seems normal now? No more headache?” Jordan's voice from Lola's phone echoed throughout the hospital room.
“Yes! I'm telling you this is exactly what happened to me before I turned! Except for Sarah showing up, that is. How could I not assume that is what will happen?” She said, raising her voice a bit.
“At this point it wouldn't be surprising,” Jordan huffed before continuing. “But why hasn't she like, changed or something? Wouldn't she get teeth like you did?” Lola looked up at me from the chair next to the hospital bed with questioning eyes. Understanding, I opened my mouth and rolled my eyes before shutting it again. She stared intently before looking back down the caller ID on her phone.
“Nothing.” I mumbled. Lola seemed to stare for a moment. I could see the gears turning in her head before she finally spoke up.
“I don't turn into a vampire until I want to. I'm not sure how I do it but I just do. Maybe she won't actually become whatever she is until she tries.” She said. Unfortunately, the whole scenario made sense.
I nodded my head before chiming in, “That would make sense.”
A shuffling noise was heard from the other end of the call, followed by a few curses before Jordan ended the call. The only real sentence I could make out from her was “I better not be next.”

"I'd better not be next." I muttered as I hung up the call. "Next thing I know demons are going to rise from Hell and turn me into one of them!" I huffed, laughing a bit.
"You know that's possible." Sarah said from behind me. I swung around to face her.
I groaned, "You'd know all about it wouldn't you." She simply nodded her head and smirked turning toward the kitchen. I rolled my eyes, throwing myself down onto the couch. I started listening to the shouting in my ear. It sounded like Schlatt somehow got into our voice channel, and now he was arguing with Wilbur about how to...rule a country? I don't even know. I listened to their bickering for a few minutes before it went quiet.
"God they're annoying." Thomas muttered.
I laughed, "What did you do?"
"Wilbur gave me God powers, I can move anyone anywhere." He said laughing a bit.
"Oh yeah? Why didn't you use your 'God powers' to mute them?"
"Wilbur would've revoked my God powers." He said, and I laughed.
"Did you just leave poor Toby in there?" I asked, smiling.
"He's on deafen, he can't hear anyone." He said, "Working on a new sniper I heard. For you actually, for helping save our asses."
"It wasn't me though, it was my friend."
"Wilbur's going to thank you anyway." He muttered, and I could practically hear the shrug.
"Your welcome." I said laughing.

I talked to Thomas until Lola and Lilith got home. He moved us back to the main voice channel and the shouting resumed. I just tuned it out. As soon as I heard the door click I ran straight for it.
"Do you have fangs?" I asked immediately after Lola shut the door. Lilith opened her mouth and pretended to lunge forward a bite me. I stepped back laughing. Lola just rolled her eyes.
"Guys come on this is serious." She said, and Lilith immediately stood up straight.
"You're right." She muttered, looking down at her hands.
"We'll get through this." I said, sounding more confident than I was. "Are we going to test the theory?" Lola and Lilith nodded slightly, Lilith looking uneasy.
"Yeah, let me get Sarah first." She said, starting for the stairs. As soon as she was gone, Lilith looked at me.
"I don't know what's going to happen." She muttered. "No one has gone through this change that I know of. And-" She took a deep breath. "I'm scared." I smiled slightly at her.
"It's just a theory at the moment. And at least you know what you're going to be." I said, putting my hand on her shoulder, trying to make her feel better.
"Yeah, you're right. It's a theory." She said, smiling a little. "And we don't even know if you're going to be anything, it's only if you fall into the pattern."
"There's always a pattern." I said, rolling my eyes. Lilith laughed. Lola bound down the stairs, Sarah in tow.
"You guys ready?"
