"I'll get you back I will." I whispered. I knew that she couldn't hear me from the look in her eyes. My hand was on Sydney's shoulder, just there. I don't really know if it was meant for sympathy or to hold myself to the world. Darren was on his knees next to her, his hand rubbing small circles into her shoulder. He was trying desperately to calm her down. I saw that he glanced up at me out of the corner of my eye, I was still looking out a the ocean. The boat was gone, to god knows where. Kubra walked up beside me, I didn't even know when he got here.
"Who was he." I said, my voice coming out dead.
"My son." I could hear the smile in his voice. My right hand twitched on Sydney's shoulder. I wanted put my knife right in his brain. Sydney was now crying in silent sobs on the floor, Darren, having given up trying to comfort her, stood up and stared at Kubra.
"Your son?" He sounded exasperated, and his hands gestured around in a are-you-fucking-serious type way. I thought it was cute.
"Shame you didn't get here earlier," Kubra said, his hand landing on my shoulder. I tensed, and I could see Darren move forward, his eyes filled with murderous intent, but he glanced at something - or someone - and he took a step back, opting instead to stand there glaring daggers at Kubra. "Otherwise you would've had the opportunity to object." He muttered in my ear. This time my hand flew to my knife, but before I could whip around and make it's home in Kubra's rib cage I heard the click of a gun. I took a deep breath, lowering my hand. My eyes never left the ocean.
--------- I was sitting on the same dock that we'd pulled up to earlier with my legs swinging over the edge. We had all been put in the same room, with guards standing outside. I had walked out, mumbling some half-hearted excuse that I needed to clear my head, they let me go, probably because they didn't think I was much of a threat. I was looking out over the ocean again, in the same spot the boat left. I was trying to will it back, trying to do something that would have Ramona back here and standing in front of me, unharmed. I heard footsteps, my hand automatically going to my knife. I recognized the gait, though, long steps, and so sure that his foot would land on the pavement. I put my hands behind me on the dock, leaning back as Darren sat down next to me. We sat in silence for a few moments, the only sounds being the ocean crashing on the dock and our breathing.
"Do you remember the first time we met?" Darren said, his voice soft. I looked over at him, smiling a little, I did.
I was sitting on the Sweatwater dock. My mother had told me many stores about this lake and her brother. I'd have to admit, the story about Uncle Jason was probably one of my favorites. The black hood a close second. My little seven year old legs were swinging back and forth. I was having a great time, my head leaning back and soaking up the sun. Mother had just started teaching me knife throwing. My first, small knife was tucked in the grey sheath, it was the first knife I had. The sheath got destroyed a few years later by a fire. I had opted for a black one after that. I still have that one, it's currently around my waist. There were footsteps behind me, my hand completely disregarding my knife and instead opting for a fist instead, I hadn't gotten quite used to the knife being there all the time. A young boy my age had come rolling down the hill and out of the bushes.
"Who are you?" I asked. The boy looked up in alarm. He straightened, his back straight and his chin up.
He held out his hand, "I'm Darren Keller." My eyebrows shot up, and since I was young and didn't have any worries, I laughed.
"So you're the sheriff's boy huh?" I said, I stood up and walked over to him. I was taller than him then, he was a few inches shorter than me, so I flicked his forehead.
"What's so bad about that?" He said, putting a hand over where I flicked him.
"Oh I don't know? Isn't your dad going to get angry if he catches you hanging out with a Serpent?" I said, not fully knowing what the word, Serpent entailed.
His eyes had widened, "My dad won't mind!" He practically yelled. I had laughed, running over to the edge of the dock.
"Hey! Come here!" I said pointing to the spot next to me. He ran over in excitement. "Look at that frog!" I said, pointing to the water. He leaned forward to look, and I shoved him in. There was a loud splash, and I started laughing again.
His head resurfaced, and he asked, "I like you! Can we be friends?" I had stared at him and smiled.
"Yeah! Sure!"
"I pushed you in the water." I said, looking over at Darren. He looked way different than back then. His chubby cheeks had vanished, leaving a perfect jawline behind. His nose was longer, his lips fuller, and his teeth now perfectly straight and white thanks to his braces he had in middle school. His dirty-blonde hair looked fluffier and was parted to one side. He'd also filled out, his shoulders broader, with muscles underneath his shirt. He was taller than me now, no doubt about that. He was smiling back at me now, and my all my brain could think about was how perfect he was. Maybe that was his goal, to get my mind off everything for a little bit, and it was working. He leaned over and for a second I thought he was going to close the gap between us, but instead his hand reached up and flicked my forehead.
He leaned back and smiled, "Now we're even." I was in shock, my hand flying up to my forehead to where he just flicked me.
"I- what?" I said, and he laughed.
"You flicked me, so I flicked you!"
"That was eight years ago!"
"It doesn't matter, we're even now." He said, turning his gaze away from me and back to the ocean. I huffed, trying to keep my lips into a frown but ultimately failing as I smiled again.
"You are such a dumbass." I said, returning my own gaze to the ocean. The silence fell again, and it was calming. It was better with Darren here, just sitting and watching. "What are we going to do?" I muttered, Darren stayed silent, but I knew he heard me. His hand reached for mine, and I pushed myself off my hands, letting him take it. I laced our fingers together, leaning my head on his shoulder.
His hand squeezed mine, "I don't know." He said, and his thumb started tracing small circles into the back of my hand. "But we'll figure it out." He sounded so sure, "We always do."

A few hours later, we pulled up to a beach off the coast of Mexico. Right on the beach was a huge, spanish style mansion. Zachary smiled and grabbed my hand harshly, which hurt me and I squinted. He didn't care. "I'm so excited to meet my new mother in law!" he exclaimed, and I rolled my eyes. "Me too..."I muttered, and stepped off the boat with him. We were still in our wedding clothes. He led me up to the back door, and he knocked on the glass door. The man who drove the boat carried suitcases behind us, probably with Zachary's clothes and some random ones they bought for me. A few moments later, a woman opened the door. She was middle aged and hispanic. "Hola...Ramona y Zachary?" she asked, and Zachary nodded. He opened his mouth to speak, but of course I cut him off. "Si, que somos nosotros. (yes, that is us)." I responded, and she nodded in relief. "Muy bien...ella esta esperando arriba... (very well...she is waiting upstairs)." she told me, and I nodded. Zachary elbowed me. "What did she say?" he asked, and I ignored him. "No hay necesidad de eso, Gloria. Bienvenidos, mi hija. (there is no need for that, Gloria. Welcome, my daughter)." a woman spoke. I looked up to the stairs, and there she walked down the elegant steps. She was very pale with dark eyes, long and curly black hair, and she was wearing a very dark red dress. "Madre..." I spoke, and she nodded and held out her arms to hug me. When she did, she smelled familiar. "Hija, ha pasado tanto tiempo. Felicitaciones por su boda, apuesto a que eras tan feliz. (daughter, it's been so long. Congratulations on your wedding, I bet you were so happy)." she told me, fiddling with my hair. I pulled away. This woman might be my biological mother, but she will never be what Alex and Piper are to me. I didn't respond. Instead I turned my face away. "No seas así. Ven a darle otro abrazo a tu madre. (Don't be like that. Come give your mother another hug)." she responded, pulling me into a forced hug. I hated this woman. I really did. "Bien, entonces. La primera habitación a la izquierda es para ustedes dos. Disfruten. (Fine then. The first room on the left is for you two. Enjoy yourselves)." she explained, motioning the man who drove the boat to the stairs. He nodded and brought our things up there. Zachary followed him, a big smile on his face. "Gloria, habla un poco de sentido común en mi hija testaruda. (Gloria, talk some sense into my daughter)." my mother said to the housekeeper, and she strolled off. Gloria looked around, and then pulled me back outside. "Aye, Ramona, you need to listen to me. I was in prison with your mothers. I know your abuela Red very well and I know how I can team up with my friends and family from Litchfield to get you home to your madres. Me oyes? (do you hear me)?" Gloria explained. My jaw dropped. Grandma Red always talked about how happy she was that her best friend went back to her native home, but I never knew it was also my native country. "Si, si. Gracia, tu es una salvador. (Yes yes. Thank you, you are a lifesaver)." I gushed, and she nodded and whisked me back inside. I walked up the stairs and went to our room. Zachary was sitting on the bed, waiting for me. "You're so beautiful. I cannot wait for life with you." he told me, smiling in a bad way. I gulped. NO WAY was I doing that. "I'm not fucking you." I responded, standing my ground. He laughed and walked over to me. "You will do as I say." he growled, turning me around and taking my dress off. I closed my eyes and tears started to fall out. I missed two days ago, when I was driving through New York, not having to worry about the fact that if I didn't fuck my new arranged husband that my mothers, friends and horses would die. He led me over to the bed, and that's when it happened. I closed my eyes and imagined Sydney and I. We were in her native state, Hawaii. I was laying in her arms on the beach. It was just us, the ocean, and the sun. We had a house right off the coast with the horses in stalls that overlooked the ocean. Life was peaceful. Life was good. --------- (Piper's POV) "You haven't seen this girl?! Ever?!" I screamed at the police officer. She shook her head. I groaned and walked over to Alex, Cheryl and Toni. Cheryl was hugging Toni, and Alex was pacing back and forth. "I'm so sorry guys..." I told them, and they all groaned. I hugged Alex, and we all walked out together. "What are we gonna do? Where are our girls?" Toni cried, and buried her head in Cheryl's chest. As we walked down the busy New York sidewalk, I looked at the picture of Ramona. She was so innocent and sweet. "I hope our girl is ok." I told Alex, who nodded and rubbed my arm. "Uh, excuse me?" a sweet voice rang. We all turned around, and there stood no other than Ally Love herself, with Robin right next to her. "Ally Love?! Holy..." I started. "I know your daughter, she was in the studio with her friend a few days ago. The cops came and took her...i'm not sure what happened to her, but don't worry, she probably isn't far. I can give you her friend's contact info, the one who signed them up for the class." Ally explained, pulling out her phone. Alex went right up to her, and they exchanged the number. "Here, take my number too. I would love to help, she was so excited and sweet." Ally said, and Alex looked at me in shock. What a day. "Thanks Ally...we will be in touch." Alex told her, smiling. Robin and Ally smiled back and walked the opposite way. "Wow." Alex exclaimed, smiling big. I smiled too, and hugged her arm. Our girl probably wasn't far. Everything will be ok. ----- here r some pics so u have a visual of what they look like and jic u forgot what gloria looks like gloria: ally love: robin arzon:

After sitting on the dock for another hour, Darren had suggested we go back to our room that we were assigned. I had agreed and followed him back, our hands still linked together. The guards weren't really paying attention to us as we walked back in. Sydney was sitting on the couch in the room, looking at the ground. Darren released my hand, walking towards the small bathroom that was connected to the room. I sat down beside Sydney.
"I wish I didn't have her go to that stupid riding lesson." She muttered, probably not wanting me to hear it, I caught it anyway.
"Hey, we'll get her back." I said, putting my hand on her arm.
"How? We're stuck in here?" She said, looking at me expectantly.
I looked up as Darren entered the room. "We're breaking out of here and calling my moms, which I should've done a long time ago." I said, and I saw Darren's mouth pull up at the corner.
"They'll kill us!" Sydney said, exasperatedly.
"I've got a plan." I said, smiling. Then my face fell as I realized we only had my knife. "We don't have any weapons though." Darren hummed, and I looked at him, I raised an eyebrow as he pulled up his shirt a bit, exposing the butt of a pistol.
"My dad gave it to me." He said, dropping his shirt and smirking, "Never go anywhere without it."
-------- Our plan was ready, I go out first with Sydney behind me, then Darren behind her. We walked out, the guards barely paying attention to us. Which meant we had free reign around the place. We started towards the cars, where Darren would hijack a car or I got a key, either one works. There was a guard passing by, his keys jangling in his hands. It was too obvious, we were out in the open, but what would look more suspicious? Darrel messing around in the hood of a car or me killing a man in broad daylight? You tell me. I held my hand out in front of the guy, the knife finding purchase in his gut. He dropped to the floor, the ring of keys falling from his hand. I grabbed it and tossed the key fob to Darrel. A hand grabbed me from behind, putting a hand over my mouth.
"You aren't going anywhere." He growled. I spun my knife, stabbing it into his gut. I felt his grip loosen, so I spun around and plunged my knife into his heart. He tried to cry out, but he was already gone. I pulled my knife out as he dropped to the floor. Blood splattered on my arm and on my shirt.
"Shame, just got this." I said, kicking his body. I turned around, seeing Darren and Sydney already running towards the car. I could hear fast footsteps behind me, and I turned, seeing five guys running towards me. All of them had guns, and my eyes narrowed. This is going to be trickier than I thought. I sidestepped to my right, avoiding the first guy, the second one ran right to me though, so I threw my hand out and swiped, cutting a deep gash in the guys neck. I spun around to the first guy, throwing my knife right into his chest, killing him on impact. I heard a gunshot and a bullet whizzed past my ear. The third guy, who was about to shoot me in the head, fell forward and to the ground. Before I could register what happened, the fourth guy was in front of me, attempting to grab my arm. My hand reacted on instinct. I cut his hand clean off. He watched it fall to the floor in shock, blood rushing out of the stub where his hand was. It gave me perfect time to stab his chest. Immediately rounding on the fifth guy, I slit his throat and watched as the blood poured to the floor. I breathed heavily, turning and running towards the car. I faintly heard the rushing of air that sounded like it came from a tranquilizer gun. I felt a pin-prick in my neck. I sheathed my knife, and the world pitched to one side. I could faintly hear someone shouting before the world went black. -------- I woke up, my head spinning. I tried getting up, but I fell straight back to the floor.
"Don't move." A voice said, I could tell was a man's voice since it was too deep to be a girls. I immediately froze on the floor. What's happening to me? There was the sound of a gun, and the clang of metal and my brain was desperately trying to keep up. I tried pulling my hand back to my knife, my movements sluggish. Was I drugged? I could slowly feel my head clearing, whatever they did slowly wearing off. There were people shouting, phones ringing, and a hand in mine. I was yanked from the floor by the hand, and was pulled along.
"Give her to me, I'll carry her."
"You're our only defense!"
"You don't know how to fire a gun?"
"Of course not! When would I ever have to shoot a gun in my life?"
"Just put her on my back, I'll make it work." I was then lifted off the ground. I panicked and clung to the body in front of me. My arms thrown around their shoulders. What the hell is happening? I thought, my legs wrapping around their waist. I felt the body moving, running I think. Seconds later, I heard what sounded like a car door opening, and I was placed into a leather seat.
"What the fuck? What are you doing? Where are you taking me? Who the hell are you?" I said, I heard a sigh, and the door was shut. Someone else got into the back seat.
"Go, Go, Darren, GO!" The person in the back yelled. They were obviously a girl. Darren? I knew that name. Who was he? Oh yeah, my friend, my boyfriend? Whatever. Thinking about it made my brain hurt. The, car, yeah, the car lurched forward then back. There was the sound of a gun again, and the bullet hitting metal. Hey, at least I knew what that was. The guy driving the car grabbed my hand and pressed a gun into it.
"Are you awake enough?" He said, and I sluggishly nodded, whatever it was still clouding my head. "You're going to hit that triangle when I tell you." He said, pointing to a bright yellow triangle on a grey box. I nodded, my head throwing itself forward and then back again because of the force of the car. I clocked the gun, holding it out the window. When did that open? I vaguely thought. I held my hand straight out the window, the gun pointed at the yellow box. "Now!" He yelled. My finger immediately pulled the trigger, the bullet went straight through the box, causing it to spark. The gate that apparently was closing started opening again. "Even sedated you're a straight shot." I heard the guy who handed me the gun mutter. He sounded, impressed? The car was picking up speed and I got a vague sense of excitement. I could feel the world pitching again, I'm sedated? and the world went black again.

It's been three days. Zachary said he is house shopping for us currently, but Gloria and I had other plans. Every night, when Zachary and my mother went to bed, I met Gloria in her room. Tonight was the night before the big escape plan.
"Okay, so Martiza is going to call Zachary and try to seduce him. He is an 18 year old boy, so of course he will fall for the seduction. Martiza is going to ask him to meet her in LA, and he is most likely going to say no because he is married. Maritza being Maritza, she will get her way and you will go with him. I asked Red to talk to Aleida, and Aleida is going to send Cesar and some of his amigos to LA to fight off Zachary and Kubra's men if there are any. Tonight, when he steps out to talk to her or when you need to ‘use the restroom’, you will call your friends and tell them to get to LA in two days. They will take you home. Entiendo (got it)?" Gloria explained for the fifth time. I nodded. I'm going home to Sydney, my moms, Holly, and my horses. It's happening.
"Martiza will call in 10 minutes. You go pretend to be asleep. Good luck chica." she told me, shoving me out of her room. I snuck upstairs and gently got into bed. Just as Gloria said, ten minutes later, his phone rang. He groaned and picked it up.
"...hello..." he grumbled. He was silent for a few seconds, and then I heard a chuckle.
"No, i'm not busy...haha..." he talked, and I smiled. Come on, Martiza. He kept talking and moaning, and I was impatient. I waited a few moments, and he kept chuckling and chatting with her.
“Oh yeah….yeah one second…” he mumbled, looking over at me. I pretended to be asleep. He quietly got out of bed and walked to the restroom. I swiftly grabbed the phone Gloria bought for me that was hiding in my dresser. It was brand new, so I had to punch in Holly's number. We have a five hour time difference, in Oaxaca it is 11:15 PM, and in Florida or wherever she is, it is either 4:15 AM or 1:15 AM. I dialed her number and prayed she would pick up. The phone finally beeped.
"Hello...?" she answered groggily.
"Holly. It's me. My mom's housekeeper slash my grandma's best friend secretly got me a phone to call you. I need you to come meet me at an apartment on 22'nd Avenue in Venice Beach. It's modern looking and it's oceanfront." I explained, and I could hear her slapping somebody's arm.
"Ramona?! Oh my god, why? When? What's going on?" she asked excitedly.
"Two days at noon. Oh shit, he's coming. See you then." I responded, and shoved the phone into my dresser. I laid in bed and pretended like I was waiting for him to come back. He opened the door and he walked in with flushed cheeks and a smile on his face.
"Oh shit, i'm sorry sweetie. I was gonna tell you when you woke up, but we are leaving this morning for Venice Beach! We are going to meet a friend. Aren't you excited? California is your home state! We will buy a nice, big house there, probably close to my friend's apartment!" he told me, excited. I smiled, and when he climbed into bed and spooned me, the smile instantly faded and I rolled my eyes. ---- The next morning, the first thing we did was pack our bags. Zachary had already talked to my mom, and she said she is more than welcome to give one of her million cars to us. When we were done, Zachary made Gloria carry all our bags to the white BMW convertible he picked.
"Adios, mija. Te amo. Mantente en contaco! (Goodbye, dear. I love you. Keep in touch!)" my mother told me, pulling me into another one of her toxic hugs. I smiled fakely and patted her back. Zachary hugged my mom, and he climbed in the car and started the engine. Before I got in the car, I walked over to Gloria and pulled her into a tight hug.
"Adios. Gracias por toda tu ayuda. Te avisare cuando esté en casa a salvo. (Goodbye. Thank you for all your help. I'll let you know when i'm home safe)." I whispered to her. She hugged me a bit tighter, and then led me to the car. Once I sat down in the passenger seat, she closed the door and winked to me.
"Adios!" Zachary called in a horrible Spanish accent, and he peeled down the road. I'm going home. --- Once we crossed the border and we were in Laguna Beach, where I grew up, he pulled into a gas station to fill the tank. I quickly pulled out my phone and checked Holly's location, which I requested to follow after Zachary fell asleep last night. She was in Yorba Linda. Perfect. I heard the door open so I quickly put my phone away and pretend to look at my nails.
"What are you doing..?" he asked suspiciously.
"Looking at my nails...they are long overdue to be done, huh?" I asked nicely, probably the most words i've ever spoken to him. He smiled at that.
"Don't you worry, dear. We will have that taken care of RIGHT away." he assured me, winking. I smiled back and then turned my head to the side, and my smile instantly faded. He climbed in next to me after he finished filling up the tank, and he took my hand and peeled back onto the road. ---- It seemed like it took forever, but we finally arrived in Venice Beach. As we drove down the streets, I saw different cars that were parked, and as we passed them, they left their spots and followed us. Cesar and his men most likely. When Zachary parked in front of Maritza's beautiful apartment, he was beaming. I was too. I am ready to go home.
"Ready? My friend is excited to meet you." Zachary said excitedly. I smiled back. We got out of the car, and started to walk for the stairs, but Martiza walked down the stairs seductively to us. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw another familiar car pull up. Holly!
"Hey...Zach..." Martiza cooed, winking at him. Zachary was basically drooling.
"Hey Martiza..." he responded, standing up straighter when she got closer.
"Say, how would you feel for a quick session of..." she started, licking her lips.
"Of what..." he mumbled, licking his lips back.
"Getting beat the fuck up for forcing mi chica here into a nasty ass arranged marriage." Martiza yelled, her eyes going from sexy to pissed. Zachary's face turned pale, and Cesar and all of his muscular friends got out of their cars and circled us.
"No daddy to save you now, huh pendejo?" Cesar growled, and his men grunted and nodded. Zachary ran to the car to try to grab a gun he snuck that was in the glove box that he didn't know I knew about, but Cesar whistled and all of his men ran to Zachary. It all happened so fast, but, from what I could see, men were moving their arms and grunting, and little wimpy screams came out of the pool of men. I heard yelling and car doors slamming, and I looked over to my left to see Sydney, Holly and Darren running full speed towards me. Sydney got to me first, and when she did, she slammed her lips into mine, her hair swiveling towards us and covering us as if it was a Disney movie. I wrapped my arms around her neck and kissed her back, and it felt electric. When she pulled away, tears were running down her face, and our foreheads connected.
"I love you." she whispered.
"I love you too." I responded, and kissed her again. I heard light sobs, and we turned to see Holly and Darren. We both ran to them and hugged them. Holly then broke away from the group and hugged me tight alone.
"C'mon, let's get back to New York." she told me, and I nodded. I looked at Martiza, who winked at me. I nodded my head in thanks, and then ran to their car. Darren was driving, Holly was in the passenger seat, and I sat next to Sydney. She wrapped her left arm around me and held my right hand with hers.
"Sydney, give me your ring." Darren said, holding his hand back and in the air like a dad asking his kid for snacks on a road trip. I gladly took that piece of shit off my finger and put it in his hand. I looked out the window briefly, and saw Cesar's men forcing a bloody and purple Zachary in the car to watch. Darren threw the ring into the street, and he quickly started the car and ran over it.
"THIS ISN'T OVER, YOU BITCH! WE ARE STILL MARRIED BY LAW, MY FATHER WILL KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU!" Zachary screamed as we zoomed off. I looked at Sydney, and she was staring at me. I kissed her again, and laid my head on her shoulder. I was home again.

I leaned my head back on the seat, smiling. Ramona was in the back seat with her head on Sydney's shoulder, both of them sleeping. We'd already been driving for a day now, and we were estimating another 11 hours before we made it back to Riverdale. It had been two weeks since me and Ramona first left. Pepperoni and Balboa were given back to her mothers and taken back to their home. I had called our parents right before we got Ramona, telling them in a frenzy that we were fine, don't ask many questions, get the horses, you're in New York?, go back to Riverdale with the horses, we'll be there in a few days. Darren's dad had been calling him relentlessly, although he never picked up. I told him that he should just call him back because he has too many things to worry about at the moment and he didn't need to worry about him too. Darren just brushed it off and said that he'd rather tell him in person. I was starting to drift off. I hadn't gotten proper sleep in days. I wanted to stay awake for Darren though, since he had been driving for three days straight.
"It's okay." He muttered from the driver's seat. My eyes snapped over towards him.
"What?" I said, the words sounding a bit slurred together from lack of sleep.
"You can sleep, I can live." He said softly, turning the volume of the music down so that it was just soft humming in the background.
"No, I--" My eyes slipped shut, and I was out. So much for not sleeping. -------- I woke up right outside of Riverdale. The houses barely in the distance. Ramona and Sydney were whispering in the back, probably about where Sydney was staying. Darren had his earbuds in, probably listening to music. I lifted my head off the center console, blinking the sleep out of my eyes. Darren glanced over at me, then took one of his earbuds out.
"So, my dad called again." He started, and I nodded my head, "And I answered. He just asked where I was and when I told him we were an hour away from Riverdale he said to meet him at Pops and bring you with me." I groaned, knowing my moms were going to yell at me.
"What about Ramona?" I asked.
"She talked to her moms and they agreed that she should go to their house so she could take care of the horses and Sydney could set up somewhere." He said, slowing the car at a stop sign, "And I don't think Ramona needs any more pressure." He added in a low whisper. I nodded, turning my head to the window. It's been a crazy week, for all of us. Ramona was attacked by wolves, met the love of her life, and married in the span of a few days. I was attacked by wolves, rescued off the side of the road, met the love or Ramona's life crying in a Peleton studio, forced into the back of Hiram's car, watched my best friend get married to some pimp and stolen from us in a boat, and broke out of a gangs hideout. Darren picked me up from the side of the road looking like I just killed fifteen people, also forced into Hiram's car, and broke out of a gangs hideout. Sydney got whisked off her feet by the love of her life, watched her get arrested, forced into Hiram's car, broke out of a gangs hideout, and rescued the love of her life in a few days. I looked out the window at the houses. All of them were familiar, they belonged to kids at the high school. I didn't know many of them very well. Ramona's house came into view, her moms standing outside. We pulled up to the house, Ramona's moms rushing forward to the car. Ramona opened her door, her moms looking very relieved that she was okay. They hugged her, Piper squeezing the life out of her. They exchanged hello's, and I'm so glad you're okay's, and finally where's this girlfriend I've heard about? Sydney stepped out of the car after her, and Ramona's parents started gushing about her. Ramona stood off to the side, looking a little like a lost puppy. I smiled and got out of the car. I walked over to Ramona, and hugged her tightly.
"I missed you." I muttered into her hair. She laughed and hugged me back just as tight.
"I missed you too you idiot." She said, pulling away. I smiled, feeling a weight lift off my shoulders. She was standing alive right here. Albeit she was married to a man I didn't know the name of, but she was here, and she was okay. She smiled, and waved to Sydney to have her come over here. Sydney smiled at her and walked over. Ramona gestured to Sydney and then back to me.
"Sydney, this is my best friend Holly, Holly this is my girlfriend Sydney." She said, and I couldn't help the laugh that bubbled in my chest.
I held out my hand, "Hi, I'm Holly." Sydney laughed, grabbed my hand and shook it.
"Hi I'm Sydney." I smiled at her, and looked over to where Darren was standing. He was standing right outside the car with the driver's door open. His arm was on the top of the door and he was looking at me with a small smile on his face. I looked back to Sydney and dropped her hand.
"I have to go." I said, looking at Ramona, "I have to go face the wrath of my moms." She hugged me and took a deep breath.
"I don't know what's going to happen." She muttered, "I'm still married to Kubra's son by law." I was shocked, Kubra's son? I thought. I wanted to go find Kubra myself and beat the shit out of him.
Instead I just hugged her back, "We'll figure it out." I muttered, "We'll be okay." -------- We were standing outside of Pops. I could see our parents inside. Darren sighed from right next to me, "I don't want to go in there."
"You think I do?" I said, holding my hand out. He looked down for a second, then laced his fingers with mine. I smiled, looking up at him. he looked down at me and smiled back.
He held up our hands, "When are we going to tell Ramona?"
"I think she figured it out." I said smiling, remembering how she asked if we kissed yet when I'd let my gaze linger on his face for a moment too long when I was saying goodbye. I laughed and told her not yet. She'd wiggled her eyebrows at that. "When are we going to tell them?" I said, gesturing to the door of Pops.
"After they yell at us." He said, laughing a bit. He squeezed my hand and pulled me towards the door.

"Do you have ANY idea how scared we were?!" Alex screamed, her hands in the air. Piper was biting her lip and shaking her head.
"We were just worried..." Piper said, and Alex fumed.
"You weren't answering our calls, your find my friends was off, our HORSES were gone!!! You better explain WHAT THE FUCK you two, or FOUR were doing!" Alex yelled, slamming her hands on the counter. I shuffled my feet and held my right wrist with my left hand.
"We...Holly wanted to go look for Larry and Archie's dead bodies. I figured it would be an overnight look through the woods, but we got carried away." I started, and Alex hit her palm to her face. I can't tell them about the rest, because I pose an even more danger of Kubra coming and killing them. I guess I have to lie.
"Then Holly fell off of Pepperoni and spooked Balboa, which caused them to run off. We got a ride with Darren, who Holly called for help. We chased the horses all the way to New York City, and Sydney happened to catch them. She let us stay in her penthouse apartment thing and I got free lessons from her mom. She wanted us to vacation with her to California for a day or two, so we did. And now we're home." I spat out, impressed with myself. Piper covered her face in her hands, and Alex shook her head.
"That was fucking stupid of you both. And then dragging Sydney and Darren into it? You know what, just go to your room, I have to talk to your mother." Alex instructed, waving me away. I skipped to my room, smiling because Sydney was there. When I opened my door, I saw Sydney staring down at a picture, her mouth open wide.
"What's wrong?" I asked, sitting next to her and stroking her arm. I looked down at the picture, and my mouth equally dropped. It was Larry and Lorraine, holding a small, Polynesian baby.
"Where the fuck did you find that? What the fuck? Is that you?" I asked, and she nodded. I hugged her, and she nustled her face into my side. Just wait until Piper and Polly find out.
"I found it in your closet on the floor! That's my mother, and that's the missing man, and that's ME!" she whispered in a loud tone, and I couldn't answer. I just stroked her arm and stared at the photo.
------ Around 11:30 that night, I was laying in bed, being the small spoon to Sydney, who was fast asleep, just like my mothers. I was staring out of my window at the horses, who were either sleeping or staring out at the river. I'm glad life was back to normal. Just my friends, horses, Sydney, and my mothers. It was calm, and peaceful. That is, until my phone rang.
"Ugh." I groaned, and I leaned out of Sydney's arms and picked it up. It said "Holly" on the contact, so I swiped right and picked it up.
"What the fuck do you want?" I answered jokingly.
"Es que cualquier manera de saludar a su madre? (is that any way to greet your mother)?" the voice said back, and I almost dropped the phone.
"M...madre?" I stuttered, my heart thumping fast. She is right hand for Kubra and Hiram, and she can call all the shots to have everyone I love killed.
"Hice que unos amigos cercanos fueran a Riverdale y robaran el teléfono de tu amiga, ya que Gloria no me dará tu número. Me enteré de tu "escape". Mierda tonta. No esperes vivir en paz. Y no esperes que tus madres o tu novia vivan. (I had some friends go to Riverdale and steal your friend's phone, since Gloria will not give me your number. I heard about your "escape". You dumb little shit. Don't expect to live peacefully. And don't expect your mothers or your little girlfriend to live at all)." she hissed, sounding very angry. I couldn't respond.
"Sólo sé que tengo gente muy cercana a ti y gente que conoces trabajando para mí y mis chicos. No pienses ni por un segundo que siempre estás a salvo. Pronto eliminarán a esas personas que te mantendrán de tu vida real, y cumplirás una vida como esposa de Zachary y madre de los hijos que ustedes dos tendrán. Cuídate la espalda, niñita. (Just know, I have people very close to you and people you know working for me and my boys. Don't think for a second that you are ever safe. You will have those people keeping you from your real life eliminated soon, and you will fufill a life as a wife to Zachary and a mother to the children you two will have. Watch your back, little girl.)." she growled, and ended the call. I didn't know what to do.

We opened the door to Pops, hand in hand. I nodded to Pop who was standing at the bar, he nodded and smiled back. Darren went ahead of me, turning the corner. I looked over, seeing my mothers and Mr. Keller sitting in a booth in the middle. My mom stood up as soon as she saw me. She rushed forward enveloping me in a hug. I released Darren's hand, hugging her back. She let go of me, holding my shoulders. "Oh my god, I was so worried. What happened to you? Are you okay?" She asked, checking me all over. I laughed a little, pushing her off me. "I'm okay, mom, I promise." I said smiling. I turned to Darren, who was looking sheepishly at his father. I turned away, deciding he needs to deal with that. I turned to my mother, she was standing by the table with her arms crossed and looking unimpressed. "You want to tell me where you went for two weeks?" She said, and I sighed. "I was out with Ramona." I started, my hand searching for Darren's again, "We thought we'd go out for a day and try and look for the missing guys." I said, Darren's hand catching my floating one, "And we got carried away. We went to New York where we got separated. I called Darren and he came out and picked me up. We then went looking for Ramona, and we found her girlfriend and we went to the police station, you know about that. And then I explained everything else before." It was like a word vomit. Darren's hand squeezed mine, probably to remind me that he was still standing right next to me. My mother sighed, walking over. I half expected her to smack me, but instead she hugged me. I released Darren's hand again, hugging my mother. "Don't scare me like that again." She muttered, pulling away. "Also you're grounded for a week." She said, pulling back. "Um, Mrs. Topaz-Blo-" Darren started, but his father cut him off. "You have no room to speak Mr. What were you doing with my credit card?" Mr. Keller said, crossing his arms. Darren winced, "I, uh, well you see..." Mr. Keller held out his hand and Darren sheepishly handed his credit card back. "That's what I thought. We're heading home now, you're grounded too." Mr. Keller said, starting to walk out of Pop's. Darren turned, reluctantly following after him. He looked back to me, I'll text you. He mouthed, smiling after. I nodded, then turned back to my mothers.
"I guess we're going too?" I asked, and my mother nodded.
"And you're going straight to your room." --------- I was sitting cross-legged on my bed. It was late in the evening, the stars just starting to show themselves. I was cleaning my knife when my phone buzzed.
Today 8:54 PM Darren: Meet me at the dock
Today 8:55 PM
Me: Seriously? We're grounded remember? Read 8:55 PM
I rolled my eyes and smiled. Sheathing my knife, I left my phone on the charging port and got up. I opened my window and climbed out the side. There was a bush below me, so I lowered myself with my arms and then dropped down into the bush. I could feel the branches scraping at my legs a little. I stayed there a few seconds, making sure my parents wouldn't come barreling out to stop me. I carefully picked myself out from the bush, trying not to make any noise. I ran over to the side gate, opening it silently. I slipped out the same way me and Ramona do, making sure the gate didn't make a loud bang when it shut. I smiled, running towards the river. I got to the parking lot near the river, looking for Darren's car, but it wasn't there. He must've snuck out too. I thought before heading down to the dock. There were a bit of bushes in front of it now, I haven't seen it in forever. It was cut off from the rest of the river now. No one wants to do the gardening over here. I pushed through the bushes, tumbling out on the other side. I opened my eyes, over me there little fairy lights being held up by the trees, and a blanket with a small speaker and an mp3 attached to it.
"I would've done more, but ya know, we're grounded." Darren said from on the dock. I smiled and walked over towards him.
"It's perfect." I said, looking around a bit more. "What is this?" I asked sitting down on the blanket.
"Well, it wasn't really official, and technically our first date was when we were in mortal danger so this is like, a do over I guess?" He said, fidgeting with his hands a little.
I smiled, "I'd like a do over yeah." He smiled, walking over to the mp3 player and pressing play.
"It was the best I could do without my phone." He said, as Banks by NEEDTOBREATHE played over the speaker. He held out his hand, and I took it. He pulled me up as the first strums of the guitar played over the speaker. I wanna be there when the voices in your head Are loud enough to make you lose your mind Just the same when you're dominating the day I wanna be the one who's by your side You know my love is not the jealous type It doesn't matter if we win or lose Oh, I could stay or I could come no matter where you're coming from I can be the one to let you choose
Darren pulled me towards the dock, and spun me around.
I wanna hold you close but never hold you back Just like the banks to the river And if you ever feel like you are not enough I'm gonna break all your mirrors I wanna be there when the darkness closes in To make the truth a little clearer I wanna hold you close but never hold you back I'll be the banks for your river I'll be the banks for your river I'll be the banks for your river
I laughed and followed his lead.
You are beautiful and wild at every turn Who am I to take control of that But everybody needs a voice they can follow When the water and the winds get bad
He sang along with the verse and I decided I liked his singing.
You know my love is not the jealous type And it don't matter if we win or lose Oh, I could push or I could pull No matter what you're trying to do As long as I can flow along with you
His hand wrapped around my waist, my hand went to his shoulder. Our other hands linked together and he held them out to the side.
He let go of my waist and swung me out towards the river.
Baby, I ain't saying that you need my help But you don't have to do it all by yourself So baby when the current gets strong And you need somewhere to rest your bones I wanna be there for you I wanna be strong for you
I felt my foot land halfway on the dock and halfway off, my other foot flew out behind me. Darren pulled me back towards him before I could fall back and laughed in between his words.
I wanna hold you close but never hold you back Just like the banks to the river And if you ever feel like you are not enough I'm gonna break all your mirrors I wanna be there when the darkness closes in To make the truth a little clearer I wanna hold you close but never hold you back I'll be the banks for your river
He wrapped his arms around my waist, and my arms went around his shoulders. He pressed our foreheads together, and I remembered the first time we met, the time we came back here to go swimming when we were 10, when we were 11 and we both just needed to get out of the house and came here at 7 in the morning.
I wanna hold you close but never hold you back Just like the banks to the river And if you ever feel like you are not enough I'm gonna break all your mirrors I wanna be there when the darkness closes in To make the truth a little clearer I wanna hold you close but never hold you back
He tilted his head and his lips met mine.
I'll be the banks for your river ------------- I got home around 12 after lengthy conversations, laughter, and a little jumping around in the river. I jumped and pulled myself up through my window. I landed softly in my room, careful not to wake up my parents. I sighed as soon as my feet touched the floor. The first thing I noticed was the slight tilt of my phone. Now, I know what you're thinking, seriously? You notice the slight tilt of your phone. But, you see, I notice little things, and I always leave my phone straight on the desk so that the charge cord doesn't break. I pulled out my knife, carefully surveying the area. After deeming it was okay, I walked over to my phone. I unlocked it, noticing that there were no new notifications on the front. Whoever touched my phone just locked it. I opened it, checking all of my social media sites first. I went through them, not noticing anything out of the ordinary. I then went to check my messages, seeing if anyone messaged anyone I didn't know. The last message that I got said it was from Darren telling me goodnight and that he'll talk to me in the morning. I sent a quick reply back, telling him the same thing, letting the happy smile stretch across my face. I clicked off the messages app, almost forgetting that I had to check the phone calls. I checked the resents, and sitting on the top of the list at 11:35 PM was an outgoing call to Ramona. The smile immediately fell from my face. Who the fuck touched my phone.

"Everyone ready?" Piper asked, looking back at us. I nodded, and so did Sydney. Piper pulled out of the driveway, and we were on our way to go pick up Aunt Nicky, Aunt Lorna, and Grandma Red. Grandma Red was granted passionate release because of her dementia, and Nicky and Lorna begged on their hands and knees to be able to be released with her, since Red's family cut all ties with her. We are letting them stay with us until they can find a place of their own.
As we drove to Litchfield, in New York, Sydney and I had our hands intertwined. Alex and Piper said nothing about us dating, they are chill like that. It's been about a week since we got home. My moms said Sydney could stay with us, which I thought was surprising, especially because of how mad they were at me for running away. Sydney and I have been enjoying the week we had together. We went to Pop's every day with Holly and Darren, swam in Sweetwater River, and took the horses on lots of trail rides.
When we reached the mid-way point to Litchfield, I felt my phone start to buzz. Alex was passed out in the passenger's seat with her hand limply intertwined to Piper's, and Sydney had her head on my shoulder, and she was dozing off. Piper looked in the rearview mirror, because she could hear my phone buzzing. I took it out of my pocket, and it said Madre at the top. I rolled my eyes and put it down, ignoring it.
"Who was it, honey?" Piper asked, her eyes on the road.
"Oh, um, just Darren. I bet he was bored." I lied, saying the first person who came to mind. Piper chuckled and continued driving. A few moments after I said that, my phone rang again, and it said Madre again. I let it ring two more times before I picked up.
"Ahora que? (what now)?" I growled into the phone, and I heard her scoff. Piper immediatley shot up, and so did Alex somehow. They never hear me talk in Spanish.
"Ah, hija, me alegro de saber de ti también. Tengo algunas noticias. (Ah, daughter, good to hear from you too. I have some news)." she explained, and my heart started beating a million miles a minute. That can't be good.
"Oh no, lo que...(oh no, what)" I started, biting my lip. Alex was turned in the passenger seat, and she was staring right into me. Piper looked suspicious, and she had her eyebrows furrowed.
"Kubra está MUY molesto por su escape. Tienes una oportunidad. Zachary viene a Riverdale para venir a recogerte y llevarte a tu nuevo hogar en California para ser su mano derecha y formar una familia. Si te niegas o escapas de nuevo, despídete de Vause, su esposa y tu novia. ¿Entiendes? (Kubra is VERY upset about your escape. You have one chance. Zachary is coming up to Riverdale to come collect you and bring you to your new home in California to be his right hand and start a family. If you refuse or escape again, say goodbye to Vause, her wife and your little girlfriend. Do you understand?)" she explained, sounding extra angry at the end. I gulped. I have to do that AGAIN?!
"Claro. (sure)." I responded calmly.
"No me "seguro", jovencita. Di que lo entiendo. No estoy bromeando. Kubra tiene armas grandes y grandes coartadas para esconderse detrás. (Don't "sure" me, young lady. Say I understand. I'm not messing around. Kubra has some big guns and big alibi's to hide behind.)." she hissed.
"Bien, lo entiendo. Sabes, no debería tener que aceptar órdenes tuyas. Podrías haberme dado a luz, pero Alex y Piper me criaron más de lo que nunca lo has hecho y lo harás. Eres una bruja frígida y odio todo sobre ti. (Fine, I understand. You know, I shouldn't have to take orders from you. You might've birthed me, but Alex and Piper raised me more than you ever have and ever will. You are a frigid witch and I hate everything about you.)" I told her calmly, though you could tell the anger was there.
"No te preocupes, yo también te odio. Todos ustedes son blancos lavados, no creciendo con su cultura. Tengo que irme. Gloria está siendo un dolor. Probablemente la patearé pronto a la acera. Hablamos pronto, Mija. (Don't worry, I hate you as well. You are all white washed, not growing up with your culture. I have to go. Gloria is being a pain. I'm probably going to kick her to the curb soon. Talk to you soon, mija.)" she said, and then immediately hung up. White washed? The fuck? Who gives a fucking shit.
"Who the FUCK was that?" Alex growled, her eyes wide. I don't know anyone in Riverdale but Veronica who speaks Spanish, but she even only speaks a little, and she is connected to Hiram....
"Uhm.. um..." I stuttered, and I felt her eyes grilling into me. Apparently Sydney was awake too.
"It was my bellboy, Juan. He couldn't reach me so he called her. Oops." Sydney explained, and I sighed in relief.
"Oh..ok. What did he want?" Alex asked, turning to face forward.
"He just asked if Sydney was going to come back." I explained, and I saw her furrow her eyebrows.
"Pretty long conversation for a small question..." she responded. Why is she grilling me like this? It's not like she even knew my mother, right?
"Yeah, um, he told me he doesn't know a lot of people in New York who speak Spanish, so we got into a conversation..." I lied, and she looked even more suspicious. Oops.
----- "My vnuchka!!" Red sang, running out of Nicky's grip and enclosing me into a tight hug.
"Hi, grandma!" I exclaimed, hugging her back.
"You found her, you found her, you found her!!!" Red shouted, hugging Alex and Piper. They shared a glance and chuckled.
"Glad you're safe kid." Nicky told me, hugging my shoulders.
"Yes, you had us all worried sick!" Lorna exclaimed, hugging me tightly as well. I laughed and hugged her back, and then we broke apart. I walked over to Sydney, and Nicky looked us up and down.
"Who's this?" she asked, and I blushed.
"My um...my girlfriend..." I responded, and we both blushed.
"No SHIT! Wow! Hey kid, welcome to the family. Bunch'a druggies and prisoners. Great to have ya." she told Sydney, and Sydney chuckled.
"Thanks, I like it here." Sydney responded, and we all laughed and walked to the car. When everyone got it, Alex pulled me aside.
"Who really was that on the phone?" she asked, holding my shoulders.
"I told you, it was Juan!" I exclaimed, and she raised her eyebrows.
"Don't raise your voice at me. I ran a worldwide drug cartel and did things you cannot even begin to imagine. I will find out who you were really talking to." she told me, gripping my shoulders tighter and then letting me go. Why the fuck was it such a big deal to them? Did they suspect it was my biological mother? And again, how would they know her?

I threw another knife at the target, the blade sinking right into the middle. Darren's hum finding it's way to my ear. I looked over to where he was sitting on the grass, leaning back on his hands. "Impressive" He said, nodding his head towards the knife. I smiled, walking over to him. "I know." I said, kissing his cheek and stealing his phone at the same time. He laughed, wrapping his arm around my waist. My parents were out for the day, something about Betty needing them at the Whyte Worm. I clicked off his phone and put it to the side, humming slightly. I knew what song he was singing just by the tune. I started humming along with him as I leaned my head on his shoulder. I felt his lips brush my forehead, and I smiled. It was a fantastic week, going swimming and having milkshakes at Pop's with Ramona and Sydney. I'd almost forgotten Ramona was married to Kubra's son. Almost. My phone buzzed in my back pocket, and I pulled it out. The screen read Unknown Number. I hummed, answering the phone. "Yo, this is dicks pizza how-" "Cut the crap." A deep voice spat through the phone. I raised an eyebrow. "I just wanted to know what size pizza you'd like. Sir." I said back, I was playing a risky game. Pissing off this guy sounded like it had serious consequences. There was silence on the other line for a minute, probably taken back by my response. "Listen here you little shit. You cost us five men, and my wife." This guy spat through the phone like I was some kind of peasant. "Sir, this is a pizza parler." I said again, rolling my eyes. Darren looked at me, concerned. I waved him off, smiling like I wansn't on the phone with Kubra's son. "DROP THE ACT YOU CUNT!" He screamed through the phone. "YOU OWE US FIVE MEN AND MY WIFE YOU-" "Listen, man, I don't know who the fuck you are." I said, "But you need to go die in a hole, okay?" There was another beat of silence before another man started talking. "You're in deep shit girl." He said, "You aren't going to just kill my men and get away with it." "What's it to you?" I asked, getting pissed off myself, "So what if I killed five men what's it got to do with you? Did I kill your best friend? Your brother? Huh?" I knew I was pressing it at this point. If he wanted to drag the conversation on then fine. I was just getting really pissed off at this guy who decided that I just, 'owed him' five guys. "We take care of our own." He said, "Expect another call in a minute or two." Then the line went dead. I growled, pulling the phone away from my ear. "That son of a bitch." I said, going to type a message to Ramona when my phone rang a second time. Darren looked at me concerned. I pressed the answer button and put the phone on speaker. "Holly." The voice said, I recognised it to be Hiram's. I groaned, holding the phone a bit closer to my own ear. "We have business to handle. I'll be in town for a few days. I hope you won't cause too much trouble." "What if I don't show up at all?" I asked, looking at the knife that was stuck in the board. "You still want to know what happened to Mr. Andrews and Mr. Bloom right? That's what started this in the first place." He said, and I frowned. He's got me there. "I'll see you soon." --------- "Why does he want to talk to you again?" Sydney asked. We were in Pops, like we always were. Sydney and Ramona on one side, me and Darren on the other. "Said he needed to talk to me I don't know." I said, shrugging. Ramona looked like she wanted to say something, but stayed quiet. "You okay?" I asked her, and she nodded her head. "I'm fine."
SORRY ITS A BIT SHORT I DIDNT KNOW WHAT ELSE TO WRITE

It's been about a month since we got home. It's been peaceful. No calls from my biological mom, no husband, no nothing. We were currently sitting in Pop's, enjoying milkshakes.
"You're supposed to eat the fucking cherry before you drink the milkshake." I spat at Holly.
"No, I save it for the end!" she said back, and I rolled my eyes at her. As we all took sips of our milkshakes, Holly looked up at all of us.
"Guys, you know we never found those bodies, and it's so close to Halloween..." she said, smiling at at Darren. He put his face in the palm of his hand.
"I'm all for another adventure, but what about our moms?" I said to Holly, and she thought for a second.
"We could leave them a note. And promise to pick up our phones this time. But you know me, i'm not going to stop until I find them." she responded, winking.
"Why am I doing this? Fine, meet at my house tomorrow at 4 AM. Bring stuff and we will go find the bodies." Darren said, since he is the only one with a car. We all squealed in excitement and made a game plan.
"Let's go the opposite way this time. We already traveled all the way through New York. There's no way that they would lead us there again. They had to have killed them in another state." I said, and they all nodded.
"We could go the opposite way. Towards Maine." Darren suggested.
"Why would Archie go to Maine?" Holly asked.
"And Larry?" I added.
"We should ask Betty if maybe we had some wrestling business over there. Since Hiram knew all about his boxing, he could've abducted him from a match." Darren said, and we all nodded. Sydney looked lost.
"Don't worry, baby, we will catch you up on everything in Riverdale." I told her, and then kissed her cheek.
------
About 3 hours later, we went to the White Wyrm. Before we leave tomorrow morning, we are going to try to get as many details as we can get.
"Ok, you guys ready?" Darren asked. We all nodded, and he opened the door to the White Wyrm. Serpents were everywhere, either drinking, playing pool, or talking. We saw Jughead on a balcony, overlooking his gang.
"JUG!" Holly yelled. I forgot this was her second home because of her moms.
"Holly! Darren! What are you guys doing here?" he asked excitedly, coming down the stairs.
"We have some questions for Betty, if that's ok." she responded, and he nodded.
"Yeah, of course. Just mind her attitude right now." he said, winking. Holly smiled at him, and he pointed us to a room upstairs. As we walked up to it, Holly looked over her list.
"This isn't too obvious, is it? We don't want the whole town to know we're hunting for bodies." Holly asked us, skeptically. I shook my head. Too late now. Darren turned the doorknob, and we saw a very pregnant Betty on the couch, scrolling through her phone.
"Hey, guys, what are you doing here?" she asked, struggling to sit up. Darren, being the gentlemen he is, grabbed her hand and helped her up. She smiled at him.
"Hey Betty, we have some questions about Archie for you." Holly said, and her smile faded.
"Why...?" she responded, eyeing all of us suspiciously.
"No reason." Holly said back, and I couldn't help but roll my eyes. What a great cover, stupid.
"You all better not be planning to take off after them again. I got Cheryl's rath last time. Wasn't fun." she responded.
"No, we're not, don't worry. Just wanna help Sherrif Keller. So, our first question is, does Archie have any ties with Maine?" Holly asked. Betty thought for a minute, and then something clicked.
"Yes, I remember him telling me he had some sort of championship boxing match in Maine. He asked me and Jug to go, but I had to say no because I thought I would pop at any minute. I still might." she explained, chuckling.
"So that means Veronica went with him?" I asked.
"Yes. She wasn't happy about it, though. They were fighting because he flirted with some girl at Pop's. He probably didn't mean to, he just does that because girls find him attractive and he can't help himself. She was pissed, and told him that they were married, not him and other women. As always, he pulled the victim card. Even though she was livid, she still went to support him." she explained, groaning and laying in the corner of the couch.
"Oh, so she was mad?" Holly said, looking at all of us. Veronica wouldn't kill Archie, but she could definitely be on our suspect list.
"Yep. That's all I know. What about that other guy? Larry something?" Betty asked, moving her hands as she emphasized Larry's name.
"Oh shit, I forgot about him. We could talk to Polly, i'm sure she knows why Larry would be in Maine." I said to them, and they nodded.
"Thanks Betty. Good luck!" Holly said, eyeing her belly. She chuckled and grabbed the TV remote and flipped on the TV. We all shuffled out, and left. Darren drove us to Polly's house, which was only a few streets down from us. Even though Piper and Polly had some barriers between them because of prison and Larry, they were still inseparable and had to live close to each other.
When we arrived at her house, I rang the doorbell, and Finn opened it. He was 7 now.
"Hey Finn!" I cooed.
"Hi Auntie Mona!" he responded, hugging my leg.
"Ramona! Hey!" Polly shouted, walking down the hallway and grabbing Finn.
"Hi, Polly. We have a few questions for you. For Sherrif Keller." I told her grimly, and her face dropped.
"Yes, ok...come to the living room." she said, leading us to her pea green couch. We all sat down, and she sat in the yellow lounge chair next to the couch.
"Ok, first, does Larry have any ties to Maine?" I asked, and she looked sad. Over Larry? Really?
"Yes...for his dad's birthday, Larry always takes a trip up to Maine to get him a hearty lobster. It's his favorite." she told us.
"Ok. When is his dad's birthday?" I asked.
"2 months ago." she responded. That was around the time that they both went missing.
"Did he by any chance mention a boxing match?" I asked, and her eyes lit up.
"Yup. He said while he was there, he was going to watch his friend Archie box. Archie also went missing, poor guy..."
BINGO.
"Thanks Polly." I said, and we all rushed out of her house.

(next morning, 4AM)
"Everybody have everything?" Darren asked before putting the keys in the ignition.
"Yep." I responded.
"Good. Let's go!" he said excitedly, pulling out of the driveway and starting for the freeway. Here we go again.

I leaned my head back in the passenger seat, closing my eyes. Ramona was in the back with Sydney, both of them on their phones, occasionally showing the other something funny. Darren's hand was in mine over the gearshift. We were heading to Maine, the GPS on the car showing the route to the town where the wrestling match was. The car was silent save for the music in the background and the silent giggles of Sydney and Ramona in the background.
"How're you doing?" Darren said softly, looking over at me. I hummed, the last time we did this I was drugged and attacked by wolves.
"I'm good." I said smiling over at him. His hand squeezed mine and I brought it up to my mouth and kissed the back of his hand. He glanced at me and smiled softly. The small ding in the background tore Darren's attention from me and the road, and he groaned.
"We're running out of gas. Can you look up the nearest gas station?"
"Yeah," I said, typing in gas station to google maps. "It's in another mile. We can make it right?"
"Yeah, we've got at least five miles or so." He said, speeding up slightly. Eventually a few minutes later, we made it to the gas station. Darren pulled into the spot, parking the car. He handed me a $20 bill.
"Go in and get snacks or something okay?" He said, leaning over and kissing me on the cheek. "You guys can stretch your legs alright?" He said looking back at Sydney and Ramona. They both nodded. I opened the car door, getting out. I looked around, scouting the area for a second. There was another car here, probably the guy that works here. I watched as Ramona and Sydney got out, laughing and walking around a bit. Closing the car door, I made my way over to the store entrance. The door opened with a small ding, the guy at the counter looking up from his phone.
"Welcome, get anything you want, need, etc." He said, waving me off. I nodded in thanks, walking over to the chip isle. I hummed, thinking about what Darren, Sydney, and Ramona might want. I heard the door chime, and I assumed Darren was the one who came in to pay for the gas.
"Darren? What snack would you want?" I asked, pulling a bag of chips off the rack. I got no response, just shuffling. I looked up, confused. I opened my mouth to yell again, but I felt the cold, metal circle of a gun at the back of my head.
"You move, shout, or anything, and you and your friends go down."
